Yes I agree with that Tyson could punch NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT, alltime great, no way. He got knocked down and OUT MORE THAN, Ali Foreman, Frazier, Holyfield, Marciano, Tunney, and Lewis combined!

Still don't really get your points. You have Frazier in your top 10, but the source of his power, his left hook, is due to an injury that cause a slight bent in his left arm, that's what "unnatural" means. Tyson's power is still there after prison (see McNeely, Bruno, Botha), is his speed and accuracy that's gone. Moreover, you can have technique, speed and accuracy but without natural power you still can't crack, Chris Byrd has skills, accuracy and speed but still remains feather-fisted.

Iron Mike Tyson was a top ten ATG, even just based on his 80s performances. He might have been a top 5 PFP.

There are things about Mike as a person I strongly don't like, but as a fighter in the 80s he was sensational, and his coming back for more against both Douglas and Lewis showed he had heart and courage. The last couple of rounds of the Lewis fight were borderline torture porn but he kept coming.

No, he's probably not quite the level of an Ali, Louis, Holmes, or Holyfield...but he stands with guys like Wlad, Lewis, Johnson, Liston, probably a significant step up from Norton, Bowe, Dempsey, Tunney, Walcott, Charles, Patterson, and ANY heavyweight today. And that's saying one heck of a lot imo.

It was always evident that Howard had his favorites.

I loved Howard with Ali back in the day. It was when he started see-sawing about certain fighters (Holmes was one of them) that I started to find him progressively more irritating. The Holmes/Cobb fight was a travesty of broadcasting imo, I know Don Chevrier deserved a medal for being so cool-headed next to Cosell. I would have been screaming at him to shut up! lol

Years ago Howard Cosell was with Muhammad Ali analyzing the recent title unification bout against Ernie Terrell on ABC's Wide World Of Sports. Howard kept on edging Ali on, saying that Terrell claimed Ali poked him in the eye, ran his face across the top rope, causing an eye injury. I was cracking up through the whole commentary, I would get irritated when the show was interrupted by a television commercial.

They were great together...it really surprised me when I learned they hadn't ever really been friends.
I think Howard needed Ali a lot more than Ali needed him, the latter certainly helped the former's career by leaps and bounds.

I still remember Howard played a janitor cleaning up a museum and the statues played the 1957 hit Little Darlin, Cosell joined in the singing, his voice was flat, I cracked up. It was on The Sonny And Cher Comedy Hour on CBS in 1974. It can be seen on You Tube. Take a look at it, it will have you laughing.

I actually watched the Carol Burnett Show for the first time in 45 years on Metv last week, had a ball watching Harvey Korman and the gang. Fun memories.

The Carol Burnett Show was also on Sunday night on CBS, the theme reminds me of school the next day,

I was sent back in time as soon as I heard that theme. I was living in Springfield, Ohio then, loved Elton John, the Who, Hendrix, Deep Purple, Parliament.
