Could you see him playing Apollo Creed? Ken Norton was almost cast as Apollo and Earnie Shavers was almost cast as Clubber Lang..and Tommy Morrison and Antonio Tarver also played antagonists. I know Weaver wasnt famous in 1976, but, he kind of looked like Apollo....
Can't imagine anyone but Carl Weathers playing Creed - apart from Muhammad Ali of course. Lol. Mike would have been pretty good. I also read years ago that Joe Frazier's name was mentioned when Clubber Lang was being cast.
He looks pretty similar but his style fits Rocky better,sure he did kinda box vs Tate but with an unsuccessful attempt.
