Could Hercules wreck the big man fast? Or is Willard to durable and takes Weaver in to deep water s ? 20 round s
Yes prime both guy s.And your correct in that ,Jess was a tough fella ,he isn't falling fast to Weaver IMO.In fact over a longer distance we could be looking at Willard wearing him down ?
Willard had no boxing skills, or boxing ability that would make him competitive with Mike Weaver. Willard came off a farm at 29 and got to the top of boxing because he was big and there was little competition. Weaver fought a man in his first fight who was much better than Willard. This fight would be like Weaver vs. the big local farm hand in a boxing match. Weaver would win early and easy.
I don't know a ton about Weaver, but I don't think he was as fast as Johnson (even at the stage Willard fought him), Willard actually had a decent defence too, and Weaver didn't seem to have the best durability, from what I know I'd back Willard over 20, but I don't know a ton about Weaver so maybe I'm underestimating him.
i think it Ends in a no contest. after ten rounds, EVERYONE...the fans, the officials, the cornermen, the ref…….all would be sleeping soundly that no Body would be there to actually give an account to who won.
It's amazing that a big useless farmhand with not boxing skills or ability, managed to use the modern scientific ability of cutting the ring off. https://streamable.com/g1oup
Ya know, while I favour Weaver all day on skills, Willard might be in with a decent shot in this. Jess was as durable as they come, he was strong, and he was willing. Weaver wasn't too hard to land on and he started slow. It could even be that Willard takes a drubbing but lands enough to wear Weaver out. I'd say 60-40 to Weaver, overall.
