Weaver was a slow starter. And Golota would build a points lead. But like the Tate and Coetzee fight Weaver would come on strong and stop Golota late.
Golota is a lot better, imho, than his resume gives one reason to believe. However, I think that he didn't have the mental strength to compete at the highest level, and he was somewhat of a bully. In other words, when he was comfortable and on the offensive, he was very dangerous. But when things didn't go his way, he started to fall apart. Weaver was a tough dude in all respects and a hard hitter. I favour Weaver to win this but don't exclude the possibility of Golota bludgeoning him early. Say 60-40 to Weaver, thumbsucked.
Weaver. Golota was more talented but Mike was mentally a lot better Mike would probably come on in the late rounds to stop Golota.
Weaver refuses to go away and gets to Golota latter on, if they were to ever fight. In my opinion anyway.
Toughie this one, both unpredictable. The weaver from the Holmes battle fights through Golata s attacks, drops him late on. Golata doesn't recover and is stopped in the tenth.
Andrew Golota is more talented with an athletically richer skill set. I see Mike Weaver frustrating him, but Weaver is no Riddick Bowe, Lennox Lewis, or Lamon Brewster. The biggest factor, however, is "Powerful Pole's" power. In that respect, "Hercules" is not as strong as the 1988 Olympic Bronze Medalist. Although Andy had trouble remaining imperturbable in some big fights, I don't think it would be a concern in this match-up because Andy's power likely gets to Mike by the middle rounds ultimately resulting in the stoppage of "Hercules" (throughout their careers, Golota stopped more opponents than Weaver). It's all about levels in the sport of boxing, and here we have before us a case of power, which matters more than ever in the sport's glory division (heavyweight). Thus, the winner would be the Polish-born idol of millions.
Weaver wins as he frustrates Golota, but a frustrated Golota makes Weaver 'WINCE' with some south of border punching.
