I think Moorer had more all-round skills. Better boxer, quicker, just a better ring technician.

Having said that I still have a feeling that Moorer gets overconfident, maybe rushes in to finish Herc when he thinks he's in trouble.

Then runs into a Weaver left hook that puts him into a dream-like state. Moorer gets up but is clearly in no condition to carry on.

    Weaver by 5th round kayo.

I honestly don't know. Moorer was a good hitter. South paw style. decent size even for a man who started south of heavyweight. good handspeed too. Mike Weaver was always in awesome condition, had great stamina, good power, and a fighting heart like no other man. Mike was a slow starter though and Moorer could reek havoc early. But Weaver often weathered the storm to rally late. One thing for certain, the crowd would get its money's worth.

I think Moorer can make it confusing for a bit with his southpaw style but Mike had a powerful jab and a great right cross hook to follow. IMO just a matter of time before MW touches his chin and ends things

The thing with Mike Weaver is that if you did not "Wake Him Up" you might lull him into sleepwalking to defeat, But Jolt him awake and you may find that you have a veritable Tiger by the Tail. Be It Holmes, Tate, Coetzee, or Truth Williams, Weaver had a Habit of Responding, Hitting Back, but rarely initiating adversity for his opponents, and thats were i think the excellant Boxing Moorer can take it, By being consistant in his controlled Boxing, not getting into fire-fights, he hits hard and accurately enough to Shackle Mike in a Hesitant Slow persuit, If he boxes like he did the first nine rounds against Foreman, than i think he is Home and Dry, Mike might try to resucue Matters late like he with Tate, in which case Mike might fall prey to a Heavy straight shot Like he did the Pinklon Thomas Right Hand, If Moorer is on his game and does not get too Involved in a Shot-out with Weaver...I think he has the Ability to come home on points. Just Dont Wake Weaver Up !!!

Can't say it much better than Area 53. I like Moorer in the fight, based mainly on the fact that I don't think Weaver can take it as well as Foreman did. Moorer got famously knocked out late, but that was against an exceptional guy. Weaver, for all his toughness, was knocked out numerous times. I think Moorer busts him up and stops him....but he sure as hell had better be careful.

I think Moorer is the much better fighter and should win. I think its very possible may even be able to get to Weaver relatively early in the bout and finish him off with his good combinations punches. Weaver though I give a very fair punchers chance as he was known to stick in there and be able to do damage at any point in the bout to go along with the fact that Moorer had a history of being dropped and damaged by big punching heavyweights. Overall I'd put my money on Moorer but as I said a very fair punchers chance to Weaver.
