And Buakaw is the perfect example of what a great muay thai fighter will do to someone who is primarily a boxer.
Zambidis vs Buakaw was a good fight, zambidis got kicked around but I guess that shows how having an advantage in height could be an even bigger advantage if you're a kicker. Zambidis couldn't really get in on Buakaw. But hey thats what the fight game is all about. I wasn't implying bias towards punching on the thread just saying how huge of a role it could play if you could really knew how to punch well. Zambidis is that perfect example.
He's not good enough of a boxer is the short answer. He has good enough kickboxing to be able to make his boxing work in kickboxing though, which a typical boxer does not.
this might be REAL punching...but it's definitely not GOOD punching. it looks like the guy has some decent handspeed but all the punches shown in that video were wide, looping haymakers. If he gets into a boxing ring with any of the top guys at 154 or even 147 he's in for the schooling of his life. He might be able to give Forrest a Mayorga-esque beating though
Yea seen that before, the Iron mike of K1. lol, thats one hell of a guy I wouldnt wanna fight outside the ring, I would run for my life from and my pride would still be fully intact.
He hits like a heavyweight. He knocked Gurkan Ozkan out cold who knocked out Stan the Man and took Mark Hunt's best shots.
I also remember Buakaw having a hard time against Virgil Kalakoda (former pro boxer) to the point of getting his ass almost handed to him. He did use his knees good though. It was very close fight that could've gone either way but too bad the ref was overly biased towards Buakaw.
nah, kickboxing is more suitable for him since he will be too short for the jr. middleweight division in boxing and would most likely get beat up pretty bad. He definitely has an advantage in K-1 though.
