its not about risk and reward.
arum, mikey and loma are arguing about baking a pie, arum wants half and loma and mikey get 1/4 of that pie. loma has to take a quarter because he agreed years ago. mikey is saying, i want 1/3 and what you do with the rest is your business. and if you cant give me a 1/3, i can bake a better pie with some other bakers.

LOL That is stupid! Instead of giving props to Mikey you pretty much call him a coward for not fighting Loma. Loma is an exceptional fighter but, he will be #2 if Mike beats Spence and that is what YOU fear. There is no justification for putting Loma ahead of Mike if he wins. That being said, I think Mikey loses but he should give a good fight for the first few rounds.

I agree. Loma is here saying **** it, I dont care about the purse give me the fight. Arum and Mikey both want to maximize their earnings. And they cant come to an agreement.

Meanwhile Loma is saying come on you greedy fat ****s just set aside your greed for just 1 second. And you know Garcia is greedy, you can tell by the way he looks out of camp. You just know hes going to blow up when he retires. I'm talking massive belly.

I just want to make it clear Loma is not holding up the fight. Hes caught between the greed of 2 men.

I actually believe that deep down Garcia would like to fight Loma. He will look him in the eye and say I want to fight you. But heres the kicker, Mikey had a price. Hes not taking a massive career risk without prying Arums greedy hands off some cash and have it sent Garcias way.

i have no doubt loma wants it, hes a competitor, he knows lightweight supremacy will always be doubted as long as they are both fighting. to get an idea of when the fight will happen, take a look at whats financially the best option for arum. right now arum has very lucrative fights lined up for loma, lucrative for arum. he gets to safely take most of the pie because he only gives half a slice to the opponent. but theres going to come a time when lomas age and lack of credible opposition will force arum to finally take a chance on the huge pie, cause people will still pay to watch em bake it.

For sure Arum has his reasons. He doesn't want to give Garcia the money that Garcia wants. If Garcia sent Arum a contract that set equal purses for Loma and Garcia you know what would happen though? Arum would sign it.

It's hard to let Garcia off the hook here. For the simple fact that because he demands a bigger purse than Loma. Is he a better more highly regarded fighter than Loma? Actually no, as it stands Loma has the superior reputation as a p4p boxer.

In any case, Garcia is a free man who has the right to deny his labor if he doesnt think hes receiving fair compensation. It's just a hard sell when you got Loma here willing to make the fight for a certain purse size. And Garcia says I refuse I want more money than Loma.

because loma isnt getting what he deserves, when you take into consideration the size of the pie. dlh, floyd, pac and mikey realized what the size of the pies were, and decided to head out, and they all made more money than they would have with arum. is that too much pie talk, lol?
loma made a choice at one point, do i agree to my next 5 checks right now, or do i negotiate separately for each check? he decided arum had enough in his stable to advance his career with guaranteed money, even if he lost. now he has to live up to that agreement, mikey dont.
mikey is selling his status as an unbeaten p4p 4 weight champ, that can sell out any boxing venue you can book, to the highest bidder.

I understand Mikeys point of view here. And I think if I was in his situation I would try and do the same thing to. Which is make as much money as possible. But considering the circumstances can he not just choose legacy over money for just this 1 fight? He has his career to make money. But Loma Garcia is THE fight. And right now its transistioning into it WAS the fight. Since it looks like it wont happen when it's supposed to if at all.

he will, and his legacy will already be set when he does. its just a race now to see what happens first. does mikey run out of profitable legacy making fights first, or does loma run out of profitable fights period.

Stop fooling yourself. You've seen this same lame movie before. Mikey is getting steam rolled and stopped via a hellacious beating.

I bet you were one of the guys buying Guerrero and Ortiz beating Money Mayweather , right? You enjoy Disney movies?

Loma is special, Garcia is merely good.

Giving a "good fight for the first few rounds" is nothing to hang your hat on. Brook gave a good first few rounds fight to GGG and left with a broken face. If that's your barometer for Garcia then you will not be disappointed.

I don’t think Mickey is the ducking type do you? Those Sechbac interviews bugged me where Sechbac would get him to say he was fighting everyone from Golovkin to Joshua.
I dunno Sechbac aside I like Robert Garcia and I think he’s a truthful guy.Sure I’d of preferred Mickey v Lomo but for whatever reason and I don’t think it’s either fighter, that fight wasn’t getting made soon.
The excuse when he announced the Spence fight was that he was edging his bets and in Spence he could take a punt and not get any stick if he loses due to the size and that he was doing it to avoid Lomo.

Lol that’s some forward thinking isn’t it?im reserving judgment on Lomo until he looks 100% that injury was the same as Dillian Whytes I believe?and in Whytes case it took at least four fights before he could use that left shoulder again.
It could potentially ruin his career if it doesn’t heal,Garcia would beat Lomo at the moment on account of this imo.

Ain’t no harm in thinking with ones heart and to be sure Mickey being a splendid chap has a fair few onside.
I’m of the same opinion and have a feeling Spence is gonna make Mickey look more competitive than it should.
Call me nuts but I have a very dim view on boxing of late and I’m never sure if we gonna get something we can believe in.Who knows what shenanigans go on in the background?
Let’s try and put this in perspective Kell Brook was in his pomp when he fought Golovkin, always a large welterweight, similar size to Golovkin and got hammered.
Mickey Garcia I keep reminding folk held a title at 126lbs and that explosive power did not look to be there at 140 let alone 147.
Spence might lose the first few rounds, prompting folk to dream like we did for Khan against Canelo but imo after this Spence will prove to be too strong and more relentless, still remember him walking Kell Brook down later on.

Exactly. No boxer should be criticized for being a smart and savvy businessman. Mikey sat out two years so he could be his own man and make his own business decisions. Good on him, **** Arum. It's the promoters that ruin the sport, not the fighters.

Too many posters here have never trained let alone competed a day in their lives, and because of that, they don't give all fighters their due respect for competing and asking for their just due. If it were up to the fighters themselves, especially the p4p world class elites, I guarantee none of them are literally scared of fighting anyone. The ring is their comfort zone and sanctuary, they've grown up competing at the highest levels against the best opposition in the world their whole lives, they live for the fights we dream of. Everyone needs to get off the fighters backs and stop throwing around phrases like "so and so is shook" or "fighter A is petrified of fighter B"...…… No, they aren't, they live for and relish those opportunities. but it's also they're life, health, well-being, and financial security on the line, not ours. They've earned the right to ask for and receive the amount of money they deserve to fight other world class elite p4p fighters. It's the promoters who haven't and who are coincidentally sucking the blood out of the sport and have been for decades.

This current crop of Ukrainians breaking through onto the current boxing seen have seriously impressed me with their skill, talent, fundamentals, creativity, pretty much everything. But I'm just being honest here, it will always be hard for me to fully back and get behind/root for boxers from former Soviet blocc countries. I wish I could get past that, and I'm trying, but for me it is hard. But like I said, many of these Ukrainians have impressed the hell out of me with their performances and even shocked me at times. And I believe to my core that none of them, especially Usyk and Loma, are scared of fighting anyone and I truly believe if it were up to them they would only fight the best, even against opposition that totally outgunned them. I also believe to my core Mikey feels the exact same way. The difference: Mikey was a smart enough businessman and took two years off to be his own master, Usyk and Loma can't say the same.

One last thing -- there is a fine line between having a huge set of balls and being a complete crash test dummy, and all three of these guys(Mikey, Loma, Usyk) are straddling that line in regards to trying to get the best fights/fight the best fighters possible. Mad respect to all three, and win, lose, or draw, all three should be given their due credit and respect for daring to be great, let's just all hope they don't slip onto the other side of that thin line and into the stupid/crash dummy category.

And oh yea, do posters see/realize the irony in saying Mikey is scared and running from Loma when he is in fact moving up in weight to fight a p4p elite H2H monster in Errol Spence Jr. while Loma is fighting Anthony...… Something, sounded like an Italian last name but I think the kids British, and at best a Euro-level fighter. (I know his name is Anthony Crolla, but come on, seriously, who the **** is Anthony ****ing Crolla compared to Errol Spence Jr.?)
