Top Rank says Mikey Garcia is going to fight at 140. How do you think he does?

Moving up in weight quickly is the new fad in boxing, and everyone sans two of the best pound for pound fighters of the past decade have failed. Even they didn't move up as fast as the likes of Adrian Broner tried to.

    Crash and burn.

He'll fight crawford and they'll fight for a belt just like that.

I like Garcia a lot (his craft is very good) but 2014 was so inactive for him that I think 140 is going to be a shock for him.

Why not step up to 135 first?

I think he does well. He had great power at the lower weights, so let's see how it fairs when he debuts at 140.

Hes had a year out of the ring getting bigger and training a lot in the gym. he sparred a lot with Maidana and done very well, so I don't think 140 will be a stretch for him, He will do well.

I think he'll struggle...a lot. I don't think his power will be as telling at 140 and I suspect he has durability issues as well...

I might end up being very wrong but...time will tell

    Martinez.

He's been hurt/wobbled in his 2 bouts at 130...lets not pretend Martinez and Burgos are ANYWHERE near as big as the bangers at 140. Burgos and Martinez are like insects when compared to Matthysse, Provodnikov, Troyanovsky or Obara

What would have been much more interesting whilst he was at Super Featherweight would have been to see Garcia in what a genuine puncher at 130 such as Uchiyama or Miura

I don't like it when fighters jump 2 weights at once, what's the rush? Even if they are dominate at the original weight

10lbs is a lot, a larger weight than the jump from MW to SMW or to Lwh and the fighters are obviously a lot smaller

Anyone know why he has jumped 2?

So, he gets knocked out by Matthysse, Provodnikov, Troyanovsky, and Obara?
