mikeys obviously done with 126 and was going to dump the belt anyway. its real shitty what garcias doing but its business and juanmas in no position to say anything because arum obviously sees more opportunity in Garcia than juanma.

Disappointing, but should still be a decent fight.

Well Juanma said to Endi.com that they are negotiating the purse, bec. now he wants 50/50 or no fight; that he makes his money regardless, so it's on them, that he did his part and it them who violated the contract, so 50/50 or no fight.

lots of fighters seem to be pulling these kind of moves lately. it's not good to see.

if a fighter believes that making weight is going to be a problem for them, they should do the right thing by moving up. staying at the weight and having an unfair advantage isn't cool.

    it cheapens boxing.

    Agreed.

I dislike catchweights for much the same reason, but at least they are contractually agreed upon and offer (theoretical)even playing field.

Man, **** Mickey, this is some bs. I was looking forward to watching this fight. Now it lost the meaning behind it.

This is strategy for Arum and team Garcia, He wasn't going to stay at 126lbs anymore and what a big debut by not making the weight at his biggest fight, now two pounds heavy should destroy more easy Juanma and then with a big win over a solid name would put him as the more popular fighter at the 130lbs division, bad move for Juanma accepting this, this will end his career Arum screw him.

He's probably going up anyway..not really much in the way of marketable fighters one division north.

Jesus, first Brandon now Mikey. There's becoming a pattern with Robert Garcia fighters coming in heavy. Is it intention, is it a failure to fight in the right division, or is it a lack of hard work?
