Don't let the screen door hit ya. A bathetic waste of a career. I was never a fan per se, but he was an undeniably classy technician who could've been in some really compelling matchups and given the sport much better service with what he had.
Just like his big brother Robert-ple ty of talent but never enjoyed it. Oh well most people dont enjoy work. hech of a talent though.
Hope he pocketed enough from the Spence fight. His career has been nothing but uninspired and underwhelming. Still can't get over his decision of swerving a fight with Loma. But when he was at his best he was pretty damn good, just wish he had more good fights under his belt. Enjoy retirement champ.
What a waste of talent. Could have fought Loma in a legacy defining fight but cashed out in a hopeless fight against Spence instead.
That may be but, he is a lil bit older then Mikey & still fighting for lesser purses then what Mikey had been getting for awhile now. Plus Bud still hasn’t officially landed the Spence fight.
Seems like his brother is more focused on his new prodigy anyways. Better leave room for Robert to train fighters who are actually dedicated to the sport.
It was inevitable. Sandor Martin is not a bad boxer, but if one loses to him, it's time to hang them up Shame big head Mikey never fought Loma.
Mikey should fight Tank Davis at 140. Big money fight. And he'd KO Tank. He recently lost his mother, which I think contributed a lot to his current mindset.
WBO and Ring 126 champion. WBO 130 champion. WBC and IBF 135 champion. IBF 140 champion. Certainly isn't a wasted career like many here are saying. If Mikey doesn't have the ambition anymore, he should retire.
Fine by me, he had a great career but he underachieved considering his talents. He just liked eating too much, couldn't stay away from the buffet table for long enough.
Excellent fighter. Mikey's two career mistakes were beefing with Arum (that might've come off a lil wrong) and punching far above his weight (literally speaking). Could've dominated LWs given how easy that novice beat Lomo or at least split wins and losses between Orlando's son and himself. On both accounts, he chose wrong but picked up plenty of money to enjoy (what I consider a short) retirement.
as a once huge fan of his, im not surprised. his lack of passion for the sport was always my only gripe about him. ridiculous raw talent when physically on point. his temperament, which i didnt like in the fighter, will probably make him a great coach. hes got the iq for it.
