Salido was getting to him, Garcia was losing control of that fight. Elite fighters can turn up the screws as the fight goes on, seeing Salido turn it up on Garcia instead was how I knew that Garcia was never going to be elite. People also seem to forget that Salido was never even hurt in that fight, they see the knockdowns and don’t understand that Garcia was in good position to time him as he was coming in, they were legit knockdowns but they didn’t do anything other than push Salido over. That fight was also how I knew his power was overrated. People at the time got excited over that fight, whereas that was the fight that killed my excitement for Garcia.
That’s the guy who was stunned and defenseless on his feet? Yeah what an achievement to land that clean shot on a literal sitting duck. An underachiever, when he was a mediocre boxer and won 4 titles? What are people smoking when it comes to Mikey? My theory is that because of how simple/average he is, people feel as if they can relate to him and live vicariously through his averageness.
False narrative? I watched that fight just the other day. Of course he was winning easily, until he started to get caught and withered away. I’m not criticizing him for getting headbutted, I’m talking about him getting tagged repeatedly and then showing that he doesn’t have a fighting spirit.
