"Whoever Arum tells him to fight. I have no boss, Loma has to answer to the old man."

    So true

But what point is he trying to make? If anything he's putting pressure on himself to make more good fights than Loma.

Point is when the lights go out and the curtains are drawn Mikey did it his way. No one can take that away from him.

Loma actually builds momentum. Mikey has a good win and disappears off the face of the earth. Another talented boxer who does zero self promotion but think the world owes him a living

Yeah, but boxing greatness isn't defined by who did it his way, or Sven Ottke would be the GOAT. I'm not that high on Loma, but Garcia's comments are problematic. Okay, so he gets fed his opponents and you (ostensibly) have nobody to answer to and get to pick and choose, but how's that necessarily a good thing? I suppose I'd need to see the remarks in context - if he's saying he's ready to fight, but Loma has a boss to answer to who has a more careful plan for him, then I guess that's a different matter.

So what's wrong with that? Most fighters do the fighting and leave the business side to their managers and promoters. If detect a little self doubt in Mickey.

I would say Loma and Arum decide together who Lomachenko will fight. And what's wrong about it? Nothing in the paradigm of the modern boxing (sport/business/show)!
Or should Loma leave Arum to be... What? A free agent? It's much easier for Mikey because so many Mexican Americans will support him, well, automatically. But Loma has to fight for his "place under the sun" in almost hostile environment.

So ducking Jorge Linares was Garcia's personal decision? Good to know.

Garcia turned down Linares for a supposed unification with Robert Easter.
Not a bad substitute and the story was that it was going to be a bigger payday for Garcia.
Then the rumors came in that Garcia was going to face Omar Figueroa!
And now they are saying that he wont fight Figueroa either!

Well based of Vasyl success in his career, it seems its better for boxer to box & handlers handle who fights who...Mike Garcia will soon become an example of what happens when boxers want to be bitter & "keep it real"

Mikey should stop all this talking and get himself into the ring against a quality opponent. Not like he has some huge fan base that is going to buy whatever he sells. He has a great talent but it is not going to last forever. Shut up and fight son:lupie:

It seems to me Loma fights whoever he wants. I'm sure the Rigo fight was Loma's idea, and we all know Bob thinks Rigo is bad business.

Haymon may do whatever Mikey wants, for all I know. But Mikey telling Loma he has to fight three other guys before Mikey will face him tells the real story: Mikey is shook.
