Mikey Garcia in talks to fight Manny Pacquiao! Did he duck Spence?

Mikey has a lot of fans in the LA area. I've gone to plenty of fights at StubHub and he's often in the crowd.

He should have fought in Carson and ultimately Staples center several years ago, IMO.

 

Well if you make a specific call out and make it seem like you really want the fight.. Then yeah, you kinda have to fight him.

Just a surprising call out,you’d think we’ve seen enough examples of it going badly with Khan v Canelo and Brook v GGG.....Khan was boxing beautiful and was well up in most folks eyes until he got smoked and Brook also fought well until the obvious happened.

Spence v Garcia could well be a repeat of the above so either the call out was real or it was a psy op to make folk think he was up for Spence but his team talked some sense into him and found him Manny Pacquiao to fight instead lol

 

if i was on his team, i would definitely steer him towards pac or loma, those fights have a very short shelf life, big fights at 147 to see who is best will still be there for him 2 years from now. loma is a no go, neither arum nor loma want it right now, so pac is the best option. if it can get made, winners legacy gets a lot heavier.

If not going to 147 isn’t a duck then not staying at 135 is.

He can’t run and hide at 140 for too long, avoiding beasts at the divisions around him.

 

He can't get Canelo off his mind.

 

what is he going to stay at 135 for? loma dont want it. who can he fight at 140 to advance his worth and resume or pay him what he gets paid now?

Didn’t he mention Spence and Loma? He’s the guy that mentions everyone and then fights safe fighters. He’s been doing it for years.

Career development? The guy has done everything he can to stall his own career. Sorry, fighting Broner isn’t my idea of developing a career.

 

loma says he dont want it. he says it would be stupid to fight mikey after a surgery, but hes cool with anyone else, including pac at 135. arum says mikey wants too much money, before ever having discussed anything with mikey. mikey went in to lomas dressing room to pitch him the fight and he called mikey slow and easy to figure out, but now hes too dangerous to fight after a surgery.
i love loma, but my ego has absolutely no ties to his success, nor mikeys, so im left with calling it like i see it, and im pretty good at seeing things the way they are.

 

You act like coming off a shoulder surgery is no big thing in boxing. Even if Loma thinks Mikey is slow and easy to figure out doesn't mean he should give him more advantages. Why doesn't Loma fight with one hand while were at it?
