He let a snake whisper into his ear and he has f*cked up his career.

He was set to fight Gamboa and was lined up to fight Pacquiao. Well that was January 2014 and now we're heading toward toward 2016 without seeing Garcia in the ring.

If he's lucky, he'll get to fight next year. If not, maybe 2017. Arum ain't no saint, but he's made some big careers. Garcia should have fought through his contract, while earning millions and pick another promoter when his contract was up.

There's a good chance he'll be out longer than Ward. Just a waste of talent, star-power and probably his career.

Never been a fan anyway, haven't missed him one bit, I like Mexican fighters to fight like a Mexican not like Floyd Mayweather. I can't stand Miguel Vazquez either, what is it with me and guys named Miguel?

I gotta be honest with you, I was fully expecting a video of him actually doing an Andre Ward impression.

But yeah, promotional issues must suck. Should've kept busy at least.

Seriously, Mikey was climbing up the rankings too. He definitely was something special seeing how he was beating quality opponents very easily, p4p type performances. He was basically one big fight away (Gamboa) in becoming a Top 10.

Its easy to talk when we don't know the details around these cases, but really, its hard to see how things are playing out with Garcia are better then if he would have just fought the damn fights, built his momentum, built his brand, made his money, and then not resigned when the time came and become a free agent or sign with a better promoter.

I like Garcia, but it really seems he is pulling a Ward. Now just hope that upon his return he doesn't start fighting pulled up gatekeepers at 132, while calling out Frampton or Rigo to come up to SFW.

Like Ward, his ego and self importance has clouded his judgement and is a typical example of what have you done for me lately.Forget the fact that Top Rank got him to the lofty position in the first place and they are entitled to make a return on their investment.
Phuck them both.I don't miss either one.Life and boxing goes on without them.

He'll come back fight at light welter, lose, and retire.

Building momentum seems to be the best option not matter what situation you're in. I think we've seen the Ward situation where his star power diminished quite a bit while he was inactive. People stopped caring and his popularity is back to pre-Super Six levels.

One of my favourite fighters, wonderful, wonderful boxer. It's a shame he had to take so much time off, hopefully he hasn't let himself go to such an extent that he returns to fight in JWW or something like that, he shouldn't go any further than lightweight (at least for now)
