It wouldn't make Canelo or Mayweather numbers, but it would sell as a PPV. Look I'm all about watching fights for free, but there's a vibe to fights on ESPN that really annoys me. You got commercials during the fights, sub-par commentary, the presentation is second rate.

It's one thing for Lomachenko to fight two tune-ups on ESPN, but Lomachenko Garcia is probably the biggest fight in boxing outside of a Canelo fight and maybe Joshua Wilder. (certainly the biggest fight south of Welterweight and possibly even including Welterweight) Look at it from Mikey's perspective, there's already tension between him and Top Rank as it is. The ESPN cards are essentially Top Rank exclusive events. HBO on the other hand has a long history of working with Top Rank, until this recent ESPN deal.

Now for a free agent like Mikey, to fight Lomachenko, he wants to make it a mega fight. You only have one opportunity at this to make it a Mega Fight. I simply can't see Mikey fighting on ESPN on a Top Rank exclusive card. But I think he is more than willing to fight on HBO. When he met Lomachenko face to face a few months back in that green screen room he was talking about making a PPV fight.

Mikey is fighting on Showtime, but he's a free agent and I can't see Top Rank allowing Lomachenko to fight on Showtime. But the compromise is clearly for it to be on HBO which I think Mikey will be happy to fight on. But just ask yourself if you can envision Mikey fighting on ESPN on a Top Rank Exclusive card. I just don't see it happening. HBO would be very interested in making Mikey vs Lomachenko a PPV, that's the only way I see the fight happening. It doen't seem like Arum is interested in having Lomachenko fight Mikey and the ESPN deal is a big roadblock to make this fight happen because I think both fighters want this fight to happen at 135. It just seems to me like if it's gonna happen it's gonna happen as an HBO PPV.

Lomachenko wants to fight Garcia at 135, has been calling him out, so Garcia can have that fight if he really wants it..................

He's not massive at either weight, but he was a good-sized feather, where he was rehydrating 10-12 lbs, with Egis Klimas testifying that making the weight wasn't easy, and a solid super feather, entering the ring at almost 140 for Sosa. Granted, there are bigger men/rehydrators at both weights, but he's not what could be fairly described as small in those divisions. His rehydration numbers actually compare to a 130lb Mayweather's (like Floyd, Loma probably keeps his noncombative weight down and doesn't let himself go between fights), and he hasn't exactly looked frail or puny next to anyone he's shared a ring with. Rarefied levels of ability are the very reason 'manlet' fighters like Mayweather and Pacquiao have been able to win across multiple weights and transcend differentials in natural size. The presumption of rarefied levels of ability is why it has been suggested that Loma, another manlet, might go up as high as 140. Klimas has implied that they'd go to 135 if there was nothing doing at 130.

When was the last time someone besides Cotto, Manny, Floyrd or Alvarez headlined a successful PPV?
Garcia hasn't even cracked 1mil on regular SHO. Why would he all of a sudden switch to HBO PPV?
(And Loma hasn't cracked 1mil on HBO either.)

Bit of a spastic Garcia is. I remember him standing next to Loma having their picture taken and Loma was all smiles shaking his hand. Garcia was like " Me and you fight, we both weigh the same, lets get it on" but he come across with no manners or social skills, like he thought Loma was ducking him or would duck him. Loma was looking slightly confused. Maybe trying to highlight something to the media that wasn't true Garcia !

If Crawford-Postol did 50K, this fight will do 100K. Neither Mikey nor Lomachenko are huge stars.

That's a better statement as "I decide who I fight and Arum decides who Loma fights", which only would make him look bad if he fights a pushover next.

This is just talk to keep the fight in people's minds. Expect more of it.

    I have no doubt we'll see Loma-Garcia.

Has Arum picked up the phone to work out the details of a fight with Garcia? Or is Top Stank looking for another '22lb'er to feed Lomachenko?
