Mikey doesn't belong at 147 until he proves he can beat guys like Loma, Linares, Prograis & Postol. I am not doubting he can, I am just saying those big welters (Thurman, Spence, Porter and Garcia) and especially Cotto, are an entirely different proposition.

I find it dishonorable that a young fighter in his prime such as Garcia would be calling out a boxer who is much older and about to retire.

I always liked him but his call outs are getting dumb and seriously annoying... clear out your 135/140 weight classes and IF you do that THEN challenge 147 /154 if you want.

Garcia is just trying to get his name out there. Nothing wrong with that.

I like and believe Garcia when he says he truly wants big fights, it's good to see top fighters wanting to face best even if they have to put themselves in the underdog postion to do so.

I do think 140 is looking like that may be Garcia's ceiling at the moment if he wants to stay an elite fighter. If he starts fighting above 140 he loses a lot of his effectiveness and becomes vulnerable to less than top level fighters.

Some of the bigger guys he's mentioned lately like Thurman and Cotto, even a ready to retire Cotto, are just too big for him and beat him handily.

There's enough good fights with guys from 130-140 to keep him busy for a long time without him having to move up to a weight where he doesn't belong.
