I must say I'm surprised by the amount of people picking Gamboa, given his level of inactivity, how often he tastes the canvas and how good Garcia has looked this last year.

I thought Garcia looked very good last night damn near shutting out a very good and underrated opponent- sure Burgos was in survival mode for the second half of the fight, but Garcia put him in it. At the same time I don't think Gamboa has looked good for a while (I didn't watch his fight with his wife so I can't comment how well he picked her apart :yep).

You have also got to think Gamboa has completely ruined/ is ruining his prime with mismanagement being that he's 32 now.

Arum fooked him up by not making the Lopez fight before Lopez ran into Warlando. He also failed to land a fight with Chris John.

He then left Top Rank and moved to The Money Team which never was, and he's also made some bad decisions in his personal life that also held him back.

You saw what Rigo did to Donaire. Gamboa comes from the same school. He may be inactive but if he is up for the fight then then watch out. This should be a ppv fight. Two of the best at this weight.

Gamboa appears desperate. Should Mikey Garcia turn him down saying Gamboa is desperate or is that a clear duck?

Gamboa is a totally different fighter from Rigondeaux. Poor comparison.

And I think Takashi Uchiyama may have something to say about your 'two best at the weight claim'.

I don't like Gamboa much...he's lazy and a PED user through his association with Biogenesis. He's also a bit of an underachiever...a waste of talent up to this point in his career.

I do like his raw talent though. If he has a complete training camp, he'd beat Garcia. Unorthodox speed is a good equalizer of methodical technical boxing. Look at fights like Kessler/Calzaghe, Kessler/Ward and Martinez/Dzinziruk...got beaten to the punch constantly and couldn't find an answer. If they both come in top shape, I expect a similar type of matchup.

I also think Gamboa has better recuperation abilities than Garcia. If Gamboa goes down, I know he'll get back up. If Garcia gets caught by Gamboa and goes down...he may not get up.

Both have suspect chins. It just happen that Gamboa glass is now close to breaking.

    good test for both.

they should fight at 140 in preparation for a pac fight.

    they are the same size.

Surprised at how many are picking Gamboa. Have we forgotten how flawed this guy is? Mikey is just a better fighter.
