Was he not backing up and being walked down by the much smaller man. If GGG fought Brook like that I would not be a fan.
That's called, BOXING. The science of hitting, while not being hit. Golovkin got hit 25x more by Brook than Garcia got hit simply because he is not as good as a boxer.
He was already too groggy to know wtf was going on at that point. The uppercut followed by the shot to the temple (kind of back of the head maybe?) had him on the way out.
You think Mikey was being walked down? SMH ... That was as perfect a fight as you will likely see. follow another sport
Watching Mikey be walked down by a significantly smaller man was weak. He is fairly one dimensional and cannot press a fight. Linares is going to absolutely undress this poor kid. Jorge will either make him lead (which Mikey can't/won't do), or he'll box his his ears off in the center of the ring
He was fighting smart, using his reach and height. Zlaticanan's measurements were so much smaller that his only chance was to get inside and bang. Mikey took little backward steps the whole fight to keep out of Zlaticanan's range while keeping him in Mikey's. Zlaticanan had no chance to win on the outside or win the battle of the jabs. Zlaticanan had no choice but to lunge forward, to try and close the distance rapidly to get to a range where he could be effective. This was obviously Mikey's plan, to use Zlaticanan's own momentum to make Mikey's power punches even harder. It was a good plan. This wasn't so much an impressive performance by Mikey as it was an exposure of how limited Zlaticanan is. He needs to come forward to be effective. He had no other game plan and it was obvious Mikey had solved the only one he had. Zlaticanan should have used more lateral movement, shown some angles, jabbed his way inside, or even backed up and made Mikey come to him. He did none of that. His upper body movement and head movement wasn't any good either since Mikey hit him with whatever he wanted like target practice. Tyson would have been ducking, bobbing, weaving, leaning, crouching, making himself a smaller more elusive target for the big man. Simply put, Mikey didn't need to stalk Zlaticanan and walk him down because Zlaticanan was walking straight to him the whole fight.
He had an advantage in reach height and size and still was back peddling. GGG was on the front foot going forward from the get go in the Brook fight of course he was hit more. Every back peddler doesn't get hit much floyd made millions doing that. It's called avoiding fighting and looking for a decision. I'm not interested especially when the other guy is half the size. Not impressive at all.
Obviously you DKSAB. Holyfield was smaller than Bowe and Tyson was smaller that Bruno. In boxing, skills pay the bills.
Yea I agree with that. Mikey's one of the sharpest punchers in the game. The sidestep he did to get out of Zlat's way after he landed that bomb was next level sh1t.
Really? Mikey was boxing off the back foot to avoid getting clipped aka smart boxing. He's not a seek and destroy kind of guy. He got hit by what, 3 jabs total?
Stop it. This time yesterday people were calling this a 50/50 fight, some favoring Zlat, and Mikey wins by 3rd round homicide KO of a dude who's never touched the canvas before. If that's not impressive, what is?
