I have the feeling that Mikey is a hypnotist. He has talked a lot of boxing fans (himself included ) into believing that he's going to win this fight...
You got to believe in order to win, but believing doesn't necessarily guarantees winning.

Mikey is trying to make himself as big as he can to fight Spence but he will be smaller than Spence anyway. Spence can weight almost 160 pounds come fight night I guess.

 

Boxers lie about there weight all the time. Its unofficiall weight so they can get away with not seeing the scale and taking the fighter's word for it.

PBC has marketed the hell out of this fight. I have not seen so much promotion for a fight in a while.

 

It doesn't really matter. If he's lying now, then he was probably lying about his weight when he was fighting at the lightweight. The point is he has never been this heavy. Yes he has fought several times at 140 already, but the welterweight is not just 140, it's 147 and Spence is a big welterweight. Also, even those guys (Broner and Lipinets) had some success in the second part of their fights.

Mikey is looking giddy for this. He really appears to be relaxed, vibrant, and ready to go. He'll make the weight.

 

Losing 5lbs from from now to the weigh in won't be a problem, pretty standard to drop water weight a few days before via water loading so probably he's bloated right now from being over hydrated and will lose a lot when he cuts water a couple of days before the weigh in.

 

It would be normal if a long time welterweight was 152 three days out. But Mikey's the smaller man and he's "going up 2 weight classes," so he shouldn't be over 147 to begin with. If anything, he should be maintaining the additional size so he doesn't come in too light (like Pacquiao eating 7000+ calories during camp).

 

mikey is doing the same thing as pac. mikey is at his walk around weight right now. he just turned the walk around fat into fighting muscle. he is taking in a lot more calories than normal to maintain the muscle he is carrying into the fight, just like pac does. over the next couple of days, mikey will cut his calorie intake and drop several pounds, last day he will completely empty out and cut whatever water weight he still needs to cut before stepping on the scale. then pile on the calories again for fuel during the fight.
