You are a quality poster pimp respect to you..is mikey a better fighter than postol or prograis at 140 though?..I'm shocked that anyone would pick mikey to beat Josh at 140 tbh he's got every advantage and then some imo.

 

Thanks for the kind words! I honestly think so. Mikey has a great jab good power solid fundamentals. He was ranked in the top 10 P4P for a reason and is a lot less flawed than Postol. Do I think he's that much better than Prograis for example probably not, Prograis gave Taylor a better fight than Ramirez did and the fight could have been scored a draw it was that close. I think that Garcia-Prograis would be a close fight for whatever reason Prograis runs hot and cold sometimes he looks great others he looks average at best. If he's on his A game he could upset Mikey but I wouldn't count on it.

 

Can't disagree with a balanced post like that my man there's a lot of fanboys on here and you have been one of the very best,fair, and consistent posters since I was a lurker 2012-2013..p.s Josh would saunter through mikey if(it won't) ever happen!!..

 

Great catch Pimp. I hope they can make this fight happen. Taylor came to the US to fight Martinez, might be cool to see this one in the UK if the money is there. Either way, it’s great on paper. Mikey is a likeable and eloquent guy. He needs to start taking serious fights at his natural weight. Welter is more lucrative but too big for Mikey.

 

the more i think about this fight, the more i think it needs to happen. i think mikey beats him. but lets say he doesnt, does anyone really think it wouldnt be competitive? seriously? this win would give josh automatic legitimacy and put him in the top 5 p4p. mikey gets a rematch, and would probably lose again as taylor is on a quickly rising learning curve. but lets say it goes like i think it will go, and mikey outpoints him by a couple of rds, while never in any trouble. then the rematch makes sense, as taylor is polishing, and this is his first taste of elite level, so he may very well get past the aging garcia in the rematch. both their resumes will be legitimized no matter how it goes.
its good for the sport. its good for the fans. its good for the bottom line.

 

My thoughts exactly. I like Mikey, but its because of this type of stuff that I stopped being a fan. Josh Taylor does all the work, and now Mikey is willing to cut weight for 140 to beat up a fighter he feels is tailored made for him...?

 

mikey doesn't do anything better than Taylor technically,and is physically and athletically inferior..you are crazy to think otherwise imo.taylor would brutalise mikey and he knows it so don't get your hopes up pal you swore blind about Jose destroying the tartan tornado..remember.

no i did not, lets be real about it. i said taylor wouldnt be able to keep from getting into exchanges due to his temperament and that would be the difference. ive always rated him, prograis, and ramirez in the same level. i was wrong about his ability to stay disciplined, it dont make me wrong about the rest. put it in its proper context and dont catch feelings over it. its just boxing.

I don't know if Josh "saunters" through Mikey, but I agree that Taylor definitely beats that kid.

I can remember going back and forth with some know-it-all on here over a year ago about Ramirez-Taylor. I picked the latter; he picked the former and reminded me that I had best show up when Ramirez wins.

 

na na I distinctively remember telling you months ago that Taylor would beat Ramirez.and those weren't the complimentary thoughts you had at the time..you outright dismissed the tornado at the time fella..you did the same with Regis I'm sure...as I said "we will see" now you are picking mikey to beat him which is even more fantastical imo.

 

I'm not being disrespectful to mikey he was a great fighter at feather super feather..he's not good enough to beat Taylor not in million years.yeah it was probably bandeedo you had it with.
