I think that Kessler should fight guys like Pavlik, Taylor or Lacy. Of course, why not a rematch with Calzaghe! Miranda was brutally KOd by Pavlik! He´s not in the same league!:rasta

Lacy doesn't want it, Pavlik is fighting at MW, Taylor wants another fight before Kessler, Calzaghe is not interested.

Yeah! Right now it doesn´t look so bright, it´s not going to be easy for him to find a strong opponent and a fighter in the same league as himself!

Yes, that has been clear for some time now. That's why I think Team Palle should look for an opponent where something spectacular can happen. Perhaps a brutal KO or some "slug-fest". If no top-dog is willing to fight him, Team Palle's thinking should be: "bad advertising rather than no advertising". Kessler needs to stay in the limelight somehow.

I'm not trying to make a career out of writing, nor do I aim to impress style-wise - I just want to convince with arguments. This is my last "article" here or anywhere, because I've said pretty much all I wanted to say about boxing. Thanks for your comment, anyway.:good

The Miranda offer is on the plate make it happen, that in itself renders the article suspect no one will fight him well it seems he wont fight Miranda what gives?

I cannot remember the last time you wrote a decent post. You are on my ignore list and yet I click to see what you've written, hoping that you make a useful point or bring something to the table...but no...it never happens. Just more rubbish!:-(

I enjoy reading well written articles too! Wish I could write better, but I cannot; nor do I really try, to be honest! The most important thing to me is to make my points. Had better writers written the articles that I thought should be written, I wouldn't have bothered! Anyway, I wrote all I wanted to write! :D

I have to agree with it all except the bleating about Calzaghe giving him a rematch. JC beat him well and has nothing to prove against Mikkel, with so few fights left in his career rematches vs well beaten opponents are not an option for him.

A WBA eliminator would be the correct fight for him if Mundine isnt man enough to give the man that gave him a shot one in return. I think taking Lacy apart would do little for him as Lacy would then for sure just be dismissed as either shot or never any good anyway. Lacy himself needs to impress to justify his ranking in the top 5 vs another real contender, something I'm having trouble seeing happen.

In a way its honourable that Bute is man enough to say he isnt good enough yet for Kessler but really if he wants to be claiming to be a champ he cant be fighting the likes of Joppy.

For me that leaves JT. What better way could there be for taylor to try and impress immediately at smw than vs Kessler? It makes sense for Taylor - if he thinks he can win. I suspect though that JT would take a beating from Mikkel and he knows it.

Time for Mundine, Bute or Taylor to man up I think.

This is what the article says:

Boxing is in a mess because the wrong fights get made and because overrated, overprotected fighters get overhyped and sold to the public as greats. Most of the time, champs don't want to take the risk of fighting dangerous, tough competition, but prefer to make easy money fighting meaningless fight which are hyped as great fights by promoters, networks and commentators. The public is shortchanged, but often they swallow the hype. However, there are still heroic fighters out there who don't play the game and are willing to take bad risk/reward ratios, daring to be great. e.g. Kessler. However, if they happen to lose, despite a very god performance, they are let down and betrayed by the sport to which they give legitimacy and extend a lifeline to by going beyond the call of duty, daring to be great... Kessler, for example, was let down by his fellow fighters who wouldn't take the bad risk/reward, especially Mundine, who had a moral obligation to fight him, and he was betrayed by the regulator - the sanctioning bodies - who rated him too low to get a shot at the Champs, as mandatory. They did it for money because Kessler, due to injury, fights only twice a year, rather than three times a year, so he provides less in sanctining fees that the other champs do. Disgrace!

Instead of a viking boat, give Kessler a cross. Your acting like everyone has turned their back on the guy and the fans are stoning and whipping him. Jeez, the guy lost to Calz. Its not the end of his career. Calz finally decided to come to America instead of a rematch against Kessler. As stated in the beginning of the article 'boxing is a busines'. It was a wise business move by Calz. Kessler needs to take a page from Calz and get as much exposure as he can so he doesn't have to call people out; they will be lined up to fight him. Winky is acting like a ***** though... Can't argue with that.
