Good article I agree with everything anout what is wrong with boxing.
Should have other examples than Kessler though to make the argument stronger. Should mention JT who has taken a lot of heat for fighting the best available and winning narrow victories, and losing to KP of course.

Good article, but you act like the world owes Kess a favour. He's an entertaining fighter, great skills, sure, takes on anyone but losses happen. He lost to the best in his division. No shame in that at all. Why should Joe give him a rematch? When it went to the cards no doubt we all knew who the winner was. He beat his last major threat at 168, so fair enough, he gets his big money fight against BHop in the states. Kess should just fight one tune up V a top 10 guy, get a mandatory ranking, then take it over.

The problem is that Kessler wouldn't become mandatory challenger given current rankings irrespective whom he fights, until next year. In other words, it will have taken him 2 years after he lost his belts to get another title shot, unless Bute or Mundine give him a voluntary title shot. Is that normal? Do you think that's fair, with 4 belts on the line? I don't/

No I don't think it's fair at all, but hey, that boxing! He's not the first to be in this position and he won't be the last.

Fair or not it is the business of boxing, just keep winning and he will keep his respect. Belts dont make the fighter.

That's boxing...but it shouldn't be, should it? Boxing is shooting itself in the foot by being unfair to the best fighters out there who give it all and put it all on the line against the best, because this is what the fans want.

I like Miranda, very exciting fighter, But Kessler beats him badly. No reason why Kessler would duck him.

Look, with Joe fighting at 175 ( I don't think he'll fight at super middle again), does anyone doubt who the best fighter at 168 is? Not at all. Kess is the big guy regardless of his supposed ranking.

  13. Good article except Joe doesn't need to give a rematch he won convincgly the 1st time, why does he need to prove himself a 2nd time?

If Joe is past his prime, he shouldn't fight Kessler. I said that in the article. If he's not past his prime, however, he should rematch Kessler, not beat up an old man. Where is the hypocrisy?

Except he doesn't get the big fights or ranking that goes with his status...and that means he is sidelined.
