Technically flawless, throw their punches the same way/same angles, beautiful counter punchers both refuse to hold in fights unless their opponets initiate it. Both lack head movement but still have great defence, so many comparisons between the two.
I can see the comparison, but I think that Marquez is more of a warrior. Kessler is a cold machine. I cant really see kessler getting into wars like marquez. Marquez has the heart of a lion, kessler is like a computer :thumbsup
Meh... both guys have a technical based style, but JMM is much more varied with what he can do in the ring.
Hmm, they both throw straight punches for the most part but not really similar. Marquez is more of a textbook counterpuncher whereas Kessler is not a counterpuncher ordinarily. Kessler prefers to dictate things with a consistent jab, and if anything he likes to dominate so he can come forward.
Kessler is only bigger a) physically and b) in Denmark Otherwise JMM is bigger in ring. Need to see what Kessler does in super 6 first
They look kinda similar if you take a really simplistic view but look carefully... The key thing is Kessler is not a natural counterpuncher. If Kessler was a counterpuncher he would have knocked Calzaghe down and out. He landed a few counters but nothing compared to the opportunities he missed. Marquez's basic plan has always been to counter, he can do more if needed but I feel that is where he's most comfortable. Kessler likes to control things all the way, he wants to lead not counter.
Kessler uses his jab more and Marquez is better in the inside, other than that they are pretty similar, only the stance then seperates them as Marquez has a crab like stance while Kessler has a textbook cover up.
Exactly. Kessler isnt a great counter puncher and when someone goes on the attack he usually goes into a shell until they stop firing. Plus Kessler is pretty predictable in what he does and the punches he throws.
