Mikkel Kessler is a bigger Juan Manuel Marquez

I re-watched that recently. Haussler finally going down by a jab was funny as hell.

It sure would be.

 

The corner kept changing between Danish and English too. It seems like a small thing but it smacks of confusion, it adds to the feeling of panic in that environment...just when you need a cool head to give instructions. Why the **** is a Dane giving a Dane English instructions? This isn't the time for public relations.

I'm not a big time fan of Richard Olsen as a trainer.

Maybe, but Danes speak like they have some kind of pie lodged in their throat. It really just muddled the situation to not speak ones native tongue :verysad

Kessler is good but it doesn't mean Olsen is! Danes typically have the worst accent of all the Scandinavians in English. Not to mention 60,000 Calzagatrons baying for their blood, you gotta make yourself heard!

JMM combinations seem a lot more fluid whereas Kessler is robotic.

 

Hahahaha Kessler's fantastic, but he's no Marquez

 

Marquez has greater versatility and can change the game-plan in mid fight, done it vs Pac, El Cepillo and there is no greater demonstration of this than vs Diaz. He may be getting his ass handed to him but uses his ring intelligence and skill to come back. The one time things werent going well for Kessler he folded the tents and went into survival frustration mode. Simply doing the same thing again and again.

Marquez and Kessler throw straight punches in good form and there is where the resemblance ends.

If Kessler were as good as Marquez, Calzaghe would have been KTFO that night.
