Thanks. If he's fighting Kessler I'll certainly be watching that fight. It seems like a problem with the Super 6 has been guys like Bute and Stieglitz can stay away from the top fighters for a couple of years

 

contrary to popular belief i dont think bute is 'staying away' from the big cats at 68 on purpose. if anything id say hes desperate for a relevant fight at the weight because his frame is having trouble making that limit. why would he stay away? what evidence is there to support that?

He's alright. He's not required watching or anything. He's one of those guys where it's not a shock that he won a world title, but it'd be a shock if he kept it against a top notch opponent. :conf

That "H" is bogus most of the time. I agree. I never use it. I prefer IMEO (in my esteemed opinion). I try to watch a fight a day. I fail often enough. Mostly since the GTMSB thread started. :-(

 

I am pretty sure that Bute wants to meet the best at 168... But is he and his team willing to travel to make the fights? I doubt that!

 

Good for Kessler he needs another tune up before Bute, tune up and a strap, whats the problem?

In fact, he's in a very good position to do so - a pretty uniquely good position.

Mandatory for Stieglitz (WBO)

After that, he and Bute will be the only ones left on the dancefloor without a partner. It will make sense for Showtime to pair them off. (IBF)

So if victorious he'll have collected the two super middleweight belts he's never held before (WBO and IBF) and will have a chance to reclaim his two old belts (WBA & WBC) in his very next match if he exercises his emeritus rights on the Super Six winner, who will have unified those other two.

If it's Ward who wins it's a tougher proposition but not impossible. If it's Froch who somehow gets by Ward and collects both the WBC and WBA belts, then you have to love Kessler's chances of becoming the division's first ever completely unified champion (especially with him coming off victories over Stieglitz and Bute, indicating that he is still performing at a high level and able to turn in an even better performance than in the first Froch fight).

Of course he's ready to travel. In this sport it's all about the money generated. That's why now you have Hopkins & Dawson thinking of fighting in Montreal...

Up to now, every one was more than happy to come make a nice paycheck in Montreal.

Bute has been very vocal of wanting to fight in the States, especially Las Vegas and Madison Square Garden.

If Kessler brings better money and wants the fight, they will go to Denmark as long as Showtime also agrees to not broadcast it live...

I dont completely agree with you... Money is a big factor in boxing, but records and legacy is also a factor in the sport. As a promotor you want to favour your fighter as much as possible to ensure larger income in the future. Bute - Kessler is a close match-up and the venue could very well be a deciding factor in the fight.

Sorry but I just dont think that Interbox is ready to send Bute to Denmark.
