Mikkel Kessler named mandatory challenger for Robert Stieglitz WBO title.

I.l guess where we are at the moment is, how much Bute, fans and promoter wants Kessler, and how much Kessler, fans and promoter wants Bute................

Bute, not ready and prepared for the best, turned down Kessler more than once, the time is now for Bute to back up his words - quiet simple and step up.

Before the super six, Bute didn't call any other top fighter out. After the super six, Bute and fans was very disappointed, that Bute was left out. All of sudden, Bute announce his willingness to fight every body.....Well now Kessler is a possible opponent, and the question is...

Bute how much do you want to fight one of the best for once.....?

kessler has the right for another fight before facing BUTE! More money involved once he beats Glitz. Plus he had a long layoff! No sense in jumpin in with BUTE RIGHT NOW!

If Kessler believes he could beat Bute that would be a bigger money fight and it is still a title shot then just go for Bute now. Kessler doesn't have a lot of fights left in him I'm afraid. The question is if this is about straps, legacy, money, whatever? I know Saurland will push the belt route. Stieglitz will put it off as long as he can. If Kessler fights and beats Bute, then he goes away as a mandatory. I don't see this happening anytime soon. Depends on if the WBO was paid enough to push up the date. I think that happened to Anthony Mundane didn't it? Kessler was announced as mando and the fight was ordered up pretty quick.

 

Kessler holds all the bargaining power here. He is the big name, with decent fights on his resume. He travelled to the UK to fight Calzaghe. He entered the super six and travelled to Oakland to fight Ward. He then beat Froch before taking time out for an injury which has been substantiated by various sources. He is now back with a fairly impressive tune up, has the option of fighting for the WBO belt, and holds emeritus status on the WBC giving him a likely option to fight the winner of the super six.

Now, lets see what Bute has to bring to the table. Never leaves Montreal. Was nearly defeated by a limited Andrade in the first fight. Has fought some real tomato cans lately. Never entered the super six. **** Lucian, I'm not liking your hand.

It's up to Interbox now, send Bute to Denmark and take whatever is on offer from Sauerland or stfu. Bute and his camp need to understand their position in the SMW rankings and that is 4th at best.

The fight you saw in Montreal was against Tsypko I think, he didnt fight Steiglitz in Montréal, it was in California.

 

Well, the news is Kessler is now with a shot for the WBO, so we fear that Kessler dont want Bute, at least not right now. So I dont know how this news tells you that Bute have to step up...?

He sure needs to, but right now, the best 168 available for Bute may not be available anymore.

 

To be honest, if Kessler fights Stieglitz, i think it is a step back. That fight could have been fought 3-4 years ago.

6 months ago, Bute and a lot of his fans called out for Kessler. It was the only fight around, and Kessler was lucky and should just accept the deal. Good payday and would probably lose. Bute fans saw Kessler in a desperate situation, and wanted to take advantage.

After the fine comeback, Kessler and his promoter know will do any think to negotiate to try to win the fight...................:bbb

 

Good luck to Kessler, he has the chance to win another world title and then if he does he then has bargaining power for bigger fights.
Steiglitz has a good resume that people overlook, consider Steiglitz has beaten undefeated world champ Balzsay, undefeated (now European LHW champ) Gutknecht, beat then future IBF champ Berrio, he also has some other fair names on his resume and is an impressive 40-2-0.
Kessler also has an impressive record though, and should be favoured to win. If Kessler were to win he would be a 5 time world champ

 

It will end with Bute fighting yet another tomato can.
