In all seriousness though, its nice to see one of the orgs taking a stance and making a fight take place that should.

Kessler had the perfect gameplan versus Calzaghe - and he was untop until Calzaghe changed his gameplan - then Kessler failed to adapt.

As long as Calzaghe came at Kessler (Like you want Mundine to do) Kessler was winning - good counters on the way in and beuatiful uppercuts when Calzaghe got inside - Calzaghe won the fight from the distance - he "outjapped" Kessler!

Mundine has got fast hands - that is what he should be working on + his activity - Mundine is lazy/inaktive ... he has to show a much higher workrate to beat Kessler.

If he plays his cards right he might stand a chance - but it's going to be very very hard.

Another issue is where the fight is to be held... If Mundine is to stand a chance it has to be in Australia - I can't see Mundine winning a clear enough desicion in Denmark...

Kessler knows he has to throw twice as much leather in this fight than he was allowed to throw in the Calzaghe fight and Mundine knows another loss to Kessler will in effect end his proper world title hopes , thats why i see both going all out for the win and someone getting stopped in this fight . Can't wait .

I can follow your reasoning. Just too many "if"s for my taste. Rather I see this as another example of Team Palle taking the shortest path to gaining some control, to have something to bargain with. Beating Miranda big time would have kicked in the doors to US boxing. Now this will take probably at least another year. On the bright side Mundine will no doubt show up in the shape of his life.:smooch

Ok i willput it another way Mundine is two If's away from the real title :good Kessler is taking the right route imo at least its a belt of sorts ,If he battered Miranda ( Something i would put strong money on him doing ) what would the yanks hink it was worth ? This Miranda is being bullshitted up by the yanks despite being beaten by AA , KP and having a tough time with and out of sorts "Look at my boots" AG ,would a win over Miranda really have kicked the door down Barge ? i reckon not . Kessler will always be viewed as a Euro bum who got beaten by Joe Calslappy ,He will have to Beat Mundine and either or both Bute & Pavlik to get any respect state side imo mate .

    1) Miranda lost again KP. I saw him winning the AA fight or perhaps a draw. So, in whatever way you put it Miranda's credentials are decent.

    2) As far as "Kessler a euro bum" goes I think it depends on how JC fares against BHOP and maybe KP.

    3) The point I wanted to make about the Miranda-Kessler fight was that IMO the US scene, in any respect, is a lot about attitude and show. Miranda-Kessler had the potential for a lot of power punching (read good show.) With Mirandas constant trash talking Kessler takes the role as antagonist (read loads of attitude.) I really think the US audience and everybody else was in for a treat had it worked out.

Kessler is one of the best fighters in the world, no doubts. Only a fool would think otherwise.

True Barge the US scene is all about mouth and show , But **** that im well happy Kessler is fighting Mundine instead of Miranda ,**** all that Yank hype bull**** i just want to see top five fighters fight each other and despite Miranda' showing @Middle i don't rate him along side Mundine and kessler @ S/Middle at this moment in time and would rather see Kessler v Mundine 2 any day of the week , Miranda is a hit and hope merchant imo , He will be exposed as a slugger soon enough i reckon ..

Ippy , Yes he is , I agree ,What will surprise me is if Mundine goes to the 12 this time out , Kessler would have learned more in one loss to Calzaghe than Mundine would have leaned in his last four victorys imo . Kessler will defo throw twice as much leather in his next fight than he did last time out and his punch power has improved a lot since the last time he fought Mundine ,How will Choc's chin hold up to these power punches remains to be seen ,

I do remember your thread 8 mths back saying Mundine will never face Kessler again :yep

The scheming Nasser is already at work i am thinking, he has been chasing a Mundine vs Winky fight for a while now, dont be surprised if this throws a spanner in the works to bide mundine some time :patsch

I hope WBA force the fight

He did aye but i dont think it fazed him to stay in there and take shots. He has been looking pretty beaten up from sparring these days aswell.
