I am not sold on Bute yet, I know I will get a lot of **** for this, but until he proves he can CLEARLY beat Andrade, who gave him the toughest fight of his career, who at best is a fringe contender gatekeeper. Balszay is a relative unknown, but looks like he has a positive future, Green is somewhat like Jermain Taylor, you don't know what you will get. Now all that is left is Kelly, stay at MW or move up? What do you think Boo, I know he will eventually but do you think stay at middle and dominate, or move up to the more competitive division?

If KP is going to stay at 160 he will have to accept the fact that there are no big money fights in that division. Hopkins and Haglar did not rule over exceptonally strong divisions. That's why there best wins were over smaller guys who moved up, but obvioulsy both did well in terms of money and legacy. You might say staying at 160 is "the long way home."

Moving to 168 might be financially more rewarding, and there is a broader choice of opponents, but the division is so deep that becoming the dominant champion is a rough row to hoe for anyone.

The latest gossip says Pavlik/Williams, Pavlik/Bute, Pavlik/Sturm in that order. If he is going to fight Bute, I'd rather he do it with a firm commitment to stay at 168.

If Pavlik moves up, CDawson moves down, and if Pascal can make 168 I think it will be the MOST dominant division in boxing for year to come:good

My employer beats on me all day long so I'll admit to being a little negative. Saurland set up a showcase for Kessler and I see it for what it is. I think Kessler wins and is probably the best at 168. This tourney should set him up well but he will need to do more to be considered 'top dog'. In as much as a rising tide floats all boats, I do wish it success. It COULD be great for boxing.

I'm glad Showtime is stepping up and giving HBO some competition. I've said that for a while now. Showtime seemed to put their eggs in Taylor's basket hoping he would do something. Froch derailed that and Saurland made a nice move to capatilize on that. I can't fault Saurland for his promotion. Absolutely brilliant move on his part. I know you are excited for Kessler, especially after all this time. But let's not make more of this than it really is. He should be in good position after this is over. :thumbsup
