It's past Kesslers bed time now. He looked small, slow, wild and stiff legged last night and the ease with which Green was able to land on him was worrying. Thankfully Green has no real fighting (another guy who should think about packing it in-that was a nasty ko) instincts.

Brutal, ko of the year candidate though.

If he's going to continue then I suppose Shuemenov is the only belt holder I'd favour him over. Even that would be a tough fight and Shuemenov is ****.

I got shot down on here when I suggested that Kessler was shot after he fought Froch. I had Froch slightly winning in a very close fight but I don't think he fought particularly well; if he had have done, maybe an Abraham type of performance, he'd have been a clear winner in my eyes.

After that, it wasn't hard for Kessler to shine vs Bouadla who offered absolutely nothing offensively but getting put down by Green, though I haven't seen the fight yet, would seem to indicate he is definitely on the slide. I continually said I thought Stieglitz would beat him should they have fought, that opinion being a mixture of me thinking the German is pretty underrated and mainly because I don't think Kessler is at the level he used to be as a fighter. Stieglitz has a beautfiul jab and I'd have thought that would be the key vs. Kessler who is not the same fighter if he can't dominate behind his straight shots.

It's a shame that the best of Kessler seemed to come before this golden age I suppose you could say of competitve Super Middleweight matches. I'd have loved to have seen him vs. Bute when he was in his prime, that would've been a nice stylistic match up for Kessler I'd have thought and a very intriguing fight that I reckon he'd win.

Boro Chris, Shumenov is a good shout and yes, Shumenov ain't all that but I'd favour him over Kessler still.

T, you are my go to man on Kessler, and I love your honesty given the fact you're a massive fan.

I agree, he's done at the top level, and has been for a while, but he'd ****ing obliterate Clev.

I disagree but would love to see it. I'd laugh my ****ing tits off!:D

Incidently, does anyone know if Green has recovered fully? That was a brutal ko and I don't like the way he smacked the back of his head on the canvass.

Absolutely. He can still get his jollies blasting out Allan Green types though. It's true he's been fading for some time now. He's still pretty solid though, even as much as he's lost. But, I agree. He's not going to be able to hang with elite names anymore. Stieglitz types-last hurrah for a title against a weaker titlist- he probably has at least one last one in him, I'd say.

  7. Kessler would DESTROY Cleverly.

Cleverly couldn't outbox a traffic cone, he'd be getting hit plenty from the first bell..... he does in every fight.

He's simply got to sack his old man, or he'll be joining the likes of Allan Green on the highlight reel.

Kessler knows too much. He's slipped, but lets not pretend he's RJJ.

He could box circles round Cleverly if he chose to.

Other than work rate, Clev has nothing on him, even now.

Anyone got a video of the Green/Kessler KO please?

Lol @ Clev being mentioned in the same breath as Kessler. Pull the other one!

Clev has size, youth and a high workrate. Whilst kessler seems to have slipped quite a bit especially defensively. Of course he could get cracked but Clev wasnt hurt by decent punching Bellew who is practically a cruiser so I dont see it myself. Late TKO for Clev with Kessler winning a few rounds and looking decent early but eventually getting broken down.

i think he has a few fights left in him at LHW and could possibly pick up a title as long as he stays away from Dawson / Cloud.

I Laugh at all these comments about bellew beating and giving kessler a fight. you talk him up like he's already an established world level fighter, when he has struggled against the likes of ovil mackenzee

Kessler Vs Cleverly isn't even competitive. Really don't think Cleverly's on that level.

    Flea... Indeed. I've risen again.

Anyhow, I didn't mean to turn this one into Kessler v Clev, despite it taking that turn. Was just an example of how far gone I think he is.

And I don't think Bellew hurting Clev means anything for his chances. Tony is a good puncher, not exactly powder puff, and Kessler's power is made to look very good by Allan Green. I'd back Bellew to knock out Green as long as he avoided a few early bombs. Green got hit by a huge swinging left hook right on the chin, that'd make anyones power look special, but history tells us Kessler is more of a hurtful puncher than lights out.
