Froch needs this win more than Kessler does, and that will provide the difference. Points victory or possibly even a late stoppage. Can't wait for this one.
i have a feeling that kessler is going to KO froch. kess is going to be a lot more measured in this one. he's not going to go hell for leather like last time. he'll be calm and get to work on that jab, being more selective with his heavier shots. i also see him going to the body a lot more as well. hope i'm wrong because i'd like froch to even the score (even though i love kess as much as froch) but i'm going for a kessler win by KO.
:huh How do you figure that? Neither wants a third L; both want revenge on Ward. They both stand to suffer an equivocal setback in the late stage of their careers, or gain access to a mutual holy grail.
Losing at home would serve as a massive embarrassment for Froch. The fight is more personal for him, just as it was for Kess the first time. I don't think that's enough if Kessler enters the ring as the superior fighter, but I suspect they remain very close and Froch's extra determination will enable him to prevail. Can't wait to find out if I'm right or wrong!
I'll go on a limb for this one and pick Froch by stoppage. Kessler being hurt and dropped against Green in his last showing will encourage Froch to be more aggressive. Surely he won't be conditioned for Froch as he was against Green but I'm expecting Froch to take more risks this time and attempt to stop him especially after what he saw in the Green fight.
I think it's fair to say both need this win. Kessler to hit the spotlight once more and Froch to avenge a loss. This is Kessler's first serious fight since 2010 against Froch.
After my vote I noticed there are more people picking Froch by decision which was expected. Didn't get to read through the thread properly to figure that more people are picking Froch by stoppage. It shouldn't be surprising to see the average casual or simpleton picking Froch by knockout based on the Bute fight while completely ignoring Kessler's attributes. That said, yes I'm still going on a limb with my prediction because Kessler hasn't been stopped ever in his career and this is a risky prediction.
Kessler is rejuvenated and a late bloomer like Froch. I think Mikkel can use what he learnt frome the first fight more to his advantage than Froch can. Carl will stick to his current winning formula of applying aggression and Kessler will probably mount a strategy to counter and move. He seems to have developed some serious firepower over the last few years and i wont be surprised if he stops Carl in his tracks. On the other hand Carl's cast iron mentality and refusal to lose attitude for this fight makes it completely even and 50/50 imo. Fights like this is what its all about.
Kessler now has 4 fights with Montaya, Froch was his debut. I think that this will help Kessler, as he seems to be in a nice rythm with 3 straight KOs (against lesser competetion). Also Kessler looks fresher than what he did in 09/10 where he had early struggles against Perdemo and had a career worst performance against Ward. Kessler UD
Froch by late stoppage i think Kessler will have his moments but i think this is a better Froch this time round. I believe Froch has better boxing ring generalship now, he really puts it on the line in his attacks but with that Kessler can still bang and i believe he can test Froch's whiskers even thoe there made of iron..
Froch has looked slightly different in his last two fights, I think he has a point to prove and he aims to prove it 100%. I'd say Froch takes it on points but I don't really care who wins, if it's anything like the first fight the fans are the winners!
Kessler is not done yet! He will surprise Froch with his accuracy and varied output. I don't think Kessler is planing to go toe to toe with Froch. Kessler wants Froch to charge (which I'm sure Froch will do) and then counter him with some nice powerpunches. Froch will find out that he can't charge on like he did against Bute and Mack... Maybe too late... Kessler by late KO
It's possible but I can't see a KO in this fight, both might be able to rock each other for a split second but that's as far as it goes, they both have world class chins.
