Kessler either stops Dawson late or gets a wide UD. It is shame for Kessler that he had to meet Calzaghe and lose his unbeaten record. For me, Kessler is the real deal, even moving up in weight.

We have no way of knowing how Kessler will do at 175 and therefore Chad would have to be given the benefit of the doubt. Plus Kessler likes to fight at range and Chad has the longer reach. Most people tend to underestimate how hard it is to make a successful transition to a higher weight. It's not as simple as putting on a bit more muscle.

Kessler is pretty big at SMW and should handle the move up in weight well. His jab is like a piston, and he is enough of a puncher to put Dawson on his ass.

    Wide UD/late KO.

Another completely unbias opinion by a Joe Calzaghe fan.

    Wrong.

Read the Brit forum and my posts on whether Calzaghe is the best British fighter ever.

I like Joe a lot, but don't give him any credit for beating Jones whatsoever.

Just what does Dawson have in his armoury to defeat Kessler?

OK he beat Tarver pretty handily, but so have a few others - and it wasn't as if he (Chad) came under sustained attack at any stage.

Johnson laid the blueprint - Kessler isn't as relentless in terms of pressure, but a harder hitter and better technician.

OK Johnson laid the blueprint but Kessler is NOTHING like Johnson.

Kessler is an outside fighters that does the same thing from round 1 to 12. Jab jab jab right straight left and something follows with another straight right. He's very easy to figure out.

And what does Dawson have to defeat Kessler you ask??? Only a size advantage, even faster hands, great combos, good power, great footwork and a very good jab. Besides that you are right Dawson is completely outgunned here.

Johnson did nothing more than wing looping punches for 12 rounds; there was no subtlety or variation there but it was still enough to give Chad major problems.

The fact that Chad's not a counterpuncher and goes purely defensive when his opponent starts throwing works very much to Kessler's advantage too.

We all saw what happend to Kessler when he fought Calzaghe. He can't handle speed and a good workrate both of which fall into the hands of Dawson. The only thing to look for is when Dawson takes breaks in the fight. Will Kessler allow him to get off the hook? Chad defiently has the gas to go a full 12 rounds so I'll take Dawson UD over Kessler.

This is the biggest fight of 2010... give these guys a year, and both will be on the P4P rankings, and boxing will demand their superfight...

Hell... will this be the first super fight hardcore fans demand so bad, it'll happen? I see a lot of heat in the following months...

The best of all is that I have no idea who to pick, if Dawson reaches his A-level... so ****ing amazing fight!
