Yap...great fight...especially if Dawson keeps improving, and I know you will make one of the best threads ever to advertise this fight, BB! :) I'll write my analysis in the next couple of days...going by what I've seen so far.:good

    Excellent post.

My guess is a Dawson win by close decision, speed and workrate should do the trick for him in a possible fight with Kessler at 175.

Dawson would win comfortably, 8-4 if it went to points, his size and handspeed would cause Kessler issues.

However, Dawsons defence is not up to scratch, he takes far too many punches that he does not need to. I think at some point Kessler would hurt him, follow up and stop him.

Kessler TKO8 (down on the cards)

What in "KESSLER WILL STAY AT 168 FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS MORE AND TRY TO UNIFY JUST LIKE HOPKINS AND CALZAGHE HAVE DONE IN THEIR DIVISIONS" don't you understand?

from what i've seen of Kessler he doesn't stand a chance, and i have no clue why people think he could beat Dawson who's bigger, faster, stronger, just as- if not more technically sound, and also the fact that Dawsons more versatile (not just a 1,2 puncher) but combination throwing southpaw (remember what happend to the last one he faced?)

but to be fair i've only seen 1 and half of his fights, so i'll watch some more of his fights today and comeback tomorrow with an analysis...

After the Haussler fight Kessler's trainer Ricard Olsen said that it would be crazy to move up in weight, still I hope Kessler would move up if this fight was offered to him.

It does not seem like Bute has any interest in fighting Mikkel any time soon so Dawson should be one of Kessler's main goals to fight. Personally I'd rather see Kessler against Dawson than against Taylor or Pavlik.

    Read, dude. Read.

Peole are talking about this fight as a great fight for 2010.

Get a calculator out and tell me how many years to 2010 starting now?

And you own a crystal ball and know for a 100% fact that Kessler will stay at 168 for at least 5 years???

    That's what I thought.

Love to see this fight. Have to fancy Dawson on points in this one but it really is a pick 'em match. Dawson is a little quicker on his feet than Kessler and that might allow him to dictate matters.

Supposing that Kessler will stay the same at LHW as he is at SMW, I'd pick Kessler by TKO. I know that Dawson is skilled, fast, talented and all, but so is Kessler. All Dawson has done is clearly beat a faded Tarver, clearly beat Adamek but he was knocked down, and getting a gift decision against old Glen Johnson. Kessler has repeatedly looked good against decent competition. He was competitive and did well against Calzaghe too, in which was Calzaghes biggest win to date (I don't count the Hopkins fight as a clear win for Calzaghe and Roy Jones was very faded). Kessler is the more tested and experienced man imo. Most importantly however, Kessler has a big punch and Dawsons chin has been proven to be mediocre at best. So while I would say that it would be a competitive fight with both men having a chance to win, I tend to think that Kessler will catch Dawson with some good hard punches and stop him late.
