Gerald by brutal KO in round 4. Stop overrating Kessler people, you'll see what he is in less than a months time.

Has anyone here even seen Kessler fight? There is no way in hell G-Man would knock him out, especially not within 6 rounds like people are stating. McClellan was a career middleweight who fought 1 fight at SMW and we all know what happened in that fight. Kessler is good defensive fighter, has a sturdy chin, a good jab, and good footwork. G-Man would have a tough time with Kessler.

McClellan was hurt before the fight...Benn just finished him off. That wasn't G-Man at 100 percent.

Too bad G-Man will never be at 100% again. He was a hell of a fighter, but I don't see him KO'ing a SMW with Kessler's skillset.

McClellan wasn't a slick boxer who would strike and then slip away.
He would spend alot of time trading back and forth with a competitor. How would that work for him against Kessler. Kessler works that jab more consistently and mechanically than McClellan did. And Kessler follows his right straight perfectly behind the jab (1-2). McClellan would be right there to get tagged.
Also, McClellan wouldn't be the bigger guy this time. Benn, J.Jackson, Baptist all shorter than him. Were any of those guys even 5'10? Kessler is over 6 feet. McClellan would try to bang away and he'd get overwhelmed.
Even when Kessler is getting frustrated in the ring he still knows how to relax and work his jab. That, and there's no jab comparison between the two. Kessler throws his with much more power than McClellan did.

The result may depend on whether Kessler has the chin, durability and heart to make it past 5 rounds with the G-man. If so then I certainly think that Kessler has the skills to win a decision; G-man was outpointed by Dennis Milton and Ralph Ward early in his career and I'm certain that Kessler is miles better than those guys.

I think I will take Kessler by close decision. I think that once Kessler tasted Gerald's power he would move all night and not be hit clean. He will be so defensive minded that I dont see him knocking G-man out but he is to big to be knocked out.

PS......To say that look what happened to Gerald moving up in weight must not have watched the fight. Gerald punched Benn out of the ring in the first and also had him on ***** street at least 3 other times with the ref giving Benn numerous breaks after he was hurt

People talk about others overrating or hyping Kessler, but G-Man wasn't exactly the most proven of fighters either.

He beat a half-blind smaller Julian Jackson and a past-it Mugabi who recently got starched in 2 minutes by the jr. middleweight (and a rather small one at that) Terry Norris.

And also RJJ in the amatuers. We'll never know how great Gerald could have been but his power was devastating and he blew up everyone put in front of him with the exception of Benn (which I believe he was cheated so bad).

I really don't take too much stock into a guy being better than a certain guy or beating him in the amateurs.

Hell, Mike Tyson couldn't get past Henry Tillman in the Ammys, Jorge Luis Gonzalez topped Riddick Bowe in the amateurs, and Tyrell Biggs beat Lennox Lewis in the amateurs.

Look at how those fights turned out.

I know G-Man had a lot of potential, but we don't know exactly what he would have become if not for the tragedy.

I think the "what could have been" fighters tend to get overrated too much.

McClellan was a good fighter, but what he did and showed in his career hardly gives much evidence that he'd have an easy time with Kessler, who is younger, healthier, and bigger than the best guys McClellan ever beat.

Some people are acting like Kessler has hardly any chance.
