The first criteria those muppets use to judge a fighter is by his passport, then closely followed by race atsch.
Pavliks technique is no head movement. He cant fight going backwards. As soon as a fighter starts moving laterally he is done. Punchs very slow and has no combos. Pavlik is straight garbage and Bhop exposed his gangley ass.
Its much more than that. Styles, thats the key. Pavlik's style is much different than Kessler's. Pavlik wins his fights with constant pressure and basically his heart. He tries to overwelm his opponent. Kessler on the other hand is more of a classic european fighter. He basically will stay in the middle of the ring and try to establish his jab and work off of that to outbox his opponent. On topic, I see this fight as a toss up, with a slight edge to JT. I have followed JT's career from beginning and I have never seen any of his opponenets outbox him in the center of the ring. Not Bhop, not Winky, nor Pavlik. I have also watched Kessler's past few fights, and He is also very good, But, he has only been very good against mediocre opponents. This would be a great fight because they are both very similar. Hope it comes off :good
Most of these guys are Calzaghe fans. Who know that Lacy was just exposed for a fraud, and that Kessler is next. Deep down they know if Kessler meets Taylor, Hopkins or Dawson he gets his ass beat. Probably stopped by Dawson.
Stop whining. If you saw a middle eastern person on a plane you'd start sweating. If you saw a black person in an alley, you'd clutch your purse. Well you know what, when I see a European fighter who claims to be great, I generally role my eyes. :yep
I agree Kessler has a better chance vs Taylor I pick Hopkins over Kessler ud. Slapy Joe hurted him with a body punch if Taylor improves his stamina he could beat him too he got more speed and better jab.
Most pundits agree that Kessler is a fundamentally, technically sound boxer. Perhaps he lacks the ring intelligence of a Hopkins or a Calzaghe but he has demonstrated far more in the 168 lb division than Taylor ever has and is rightly considered the no. 1 fighter at the weight. Everything that Taylor struggled with at 160 with a one dimensional Pavlik, Kessler can do only better and possesses more variety. Kessler is the clear favourite in this matchup imo. Just as Hopkins would have the edge against Kessler if they ever fought. Styles make fights....
An A class fighter?? Kessler isn't the least bit dynamic - and his defense is weak. Kessler jerking his head straight back a few inches and lifting up his gloves slightly - like flinching. That's his defense. Kessler is a good athlete. A guy with natural speed, agility, and power. But he is not at all a natural boxer. He's repitive and unimaginative - and that's not for no reason. Kessler is in fact a very, very, very basic fighter with a strong constitution, good form, and good execution.
Emmm, no, Lacy was exposed by Calzaghe, remember? At this juncture I would pick Dawson over Kessler by virtue of that he is established at the weight. Although I have more questions over Dawson than I do Kessler given in his last fight he went 12 rds in a life and death struggle with a 40 year old Glen Johnson.
At 168 I might question if Kessler don't punch as hard as Pavlik. Kessler might be a little robotic but Kessler has all the skills to KO Taylor better and maybe quicker than Pavlik did.
