Kessler may not have the legs to get away from Pavlik and may be a better boxer, but Pavlik would still find holes in his defense and land the more significant punches, any one of which, could potentially hurt Kessler and set him up to be knocked down or out.

Kessler would likely need to fight this similar to his fight with Froch and attempt to control the inside, but this is not one of Kessler's strenghts, and he will not have the same success that Martinez or even Lopez had.

While Kessler is probably sharper based on both men's last fights, Pavlik has a strong possiblity of winning this fight.

Pavlik was a decent champ some years ago. His last fights shows his past his best.
Dont see him a top 5 SMW

Kessler is bigger, stronger, faster, arguably(likely) tougher, punches harder and has the better chin (again, likely).

What could Pavlik do? I think he'd lose in any situation, whether it be an all out war or a chess match.

If he was able to bully and push Froch on the backfoot, a much stronger man physically than Pavlik, don't you just think Kessler could force Pavlik on the backfoot also, with his determination?

I don't think Kessler would have to move and box, I think he could win any way they fought. This could be a good fight in Atlantic City.

IMO Neither would get stopped. It is possible that They might KD each other but Pavlik Has always been able to Make the Fight at his pace When he is fighting someone who Is the same style. If they fought Right Now I would say Pavlik By a Spilt. Only Because Kess is coming off a Long layoff as well and Pavlik got 10 solid rounds under his belt.

Once these two get another fight or two under the belts then Ill talk more on it!

    Pavlik - 6'2 - 75" reach

    Pavlik is Bigger.

    Kessler Is Faster.

    Id Say Equal Punching Power

Ill Put Up Kelly Pavlik Chin and HEart against Anyone!

Dude Kessler is a natural SMW with good handspeed and boxing ability. Pavlik has not defeated a world class opponent in years, and looked too hittable in his last fight.

And guys with Speed and any sort of boxing ability give Kelly problems ( See Hopkins and Martinez).

I know you like Pavlik, but he's got NOTHING on Kessler and may get a career derailing beating if he faces him anytime soon.
