I think it might end up an ugly, messy fight, with cuts and stumbling and an eventual points win for Kessler in the way of a 7-5/8-4 type decision with neither guy looking superb, but Kessler looking better and more comfortable. Also Adamek, I suspect.

Which would favor Pavlik! Why? He would Bust Kesslers already injured eye with a Jab all night!

Thats the only Way Kelly could win Right NOW! Pound That Eye and make him fight using only one eye!

Well, Pavlik's last fight with a name opponent had him bleeding from both eyes, I do believe. So...there's that too. :conf Their skins are thin but their hearts are thick! Sunday! Sunday! Sunday! :fire ...:blood :conf

I assume you're picking Pavlik? By KO or decision?

He was cut against Hopkins as well. I think there were a couple of other fights as well.

His cuts were pretty bad against Sergio though.

Let's wait for him to return to the top level first. Some can claw back up from rough patches and some can't.

There are many at the top level (beltholders, anyway) who would and have lost to Martinez and Hopkins. Getting embarrassed against those two for about seventeen rounds is not that serious an indictment of one's ability to compete at the top level.

One or two more tuneups and then we'll see whether Pavlik can indeed pull it together and rebound against an elite (Bute/Kessler/Froch/Ward etc.)

He has had his tune up.Arum won't pay the money Pavlik is used to making for another one or two tune ups.Top Rank will throw him to the sharks now and see if he can still swim.

    Which sharks exactly?

The biggest sharks he could dive in with on Showtime are already netted up witg eachother. (Ward-Froch and now it's looking like possibly Bute-Kessler). He probably isn't going to just sit on the shelf until all that business is cleared up...and unless he jumps to GBP it isn't as though he can just mosey on back to HBO.

    So, what sharks? Andrade? Dirrell?

I thought Kessler looked good in his return, however early on in the fight he was eating Bouadla's jab with consistency. If this guy had SMW power, the results may have different. I thought Kessler added a couple new wrinkles to his game. His footwork looked good and the body work was outstanding.
I think both Mikkel and Kelly need a couple more fights against better opposition to truly determine where they're at.
Kelly's opponent was untested, but a natural LHW. Mikkel's guy was a MW prospect. It is too hard to determine the outcome at this point.
I give Kelly a better chance of beating Froch and Bute than I do him beating Ward or even Dirrell. IMHO.

Not true. They are looking at a Manfredo type of opponent for a late August/ September fight.
