Like I wrote in another thread: Sauerland didnt do a good job for Mikkel for the Ward fight. What happened there (Headbutts,prep sabotage and what not) Is what one must expect when they accept to fight in the other dudes backyard, and with the other dudes promoters own referee.

Of course much of the blame for that circus goes to Goosen and Ward.

But some of it goes to Sauerland for being arrogant and not thinking it necessary to deal with all these issues. and when it happened it was too late.

This is also an example of why it would be good with an organisation like FIFA (Football/Soccer) in Boxing. One organisation that controls the worldwide international tournaments. Including selection of judges and referees. Imagine if say Brazil and Spain meet in the World Cup finals and the referee was Spanish.. Would never happen.

And this tournament shows it clearly. Home advantage is a huge deal. Some people don't want to understand that, but it is.

 

The only fighter who benefited from home advantage was Froch when he got a gift vs Dirrell. Every other fighter who won was supposed to win.


Ward could have fought Kessler in Kesslers livng room with his mother as ref. The result would have been the same.


It was pitiful watching a prospect figure out Kessler in 2 rounds. More pitiful was Kessler trying to land that left hook lol. Ward coud see it a mile away.

 

So big names like Floyd Mayweather could resemble Barcelona and have much handed to them on a plate, when they already manage as it is?

Just because you have one big organisation "controlling" things, doesn't mean it'll be free of corruption, you wee puff. Look at amateur boxing, where robberies occur frequently.

Most orgs have some sort of corruption

But Football/Soccer is run much better than Boxing. Officials selection is better, their are no way to dispute who the world champs are, participation in the different tournaments are earned, as well as a teams ranking is. Not this crap in boxing where much better fighters gets passed in rankings by lesser fighters. And even worse: Unproven/unworthy fighters finding their way into "championship" fights. Sometimes with recent loses.
