Well - i totally agree that Joe is the best h2h fighter p4p post jones. And I actually dont have Jones and Calzaghe separated by far in the specific prime h2h matchup. But for Gods sake - Joe wasnt shot when he faced Kessler - I have never seen him better except maybe the Joe that beat Lacy. Footwork, Speed, power, movement were all very impressive.
lol u know the poit i was trying to make. i should have worded it better. all im sayin is its hard to gauge the career of kessler now til he gets in tehre and defeats the best of the best
He aint ****ing better the no top fighter. He is the most predictable one dimensional of them all. He is a smart fighter with good timing and a good right hand counter. He is strong but does not impose his strength in a fight. He is smarter then Taylor and Pavlik by a mile but he does not have more tools by far. He cant even throw a ****ing left hook correctly...:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
Well I totally agree - it would be extremely good to see Kessler deal with Pavlik, Hopkins, Dawson, Bute, Wright, Taylor. Kessler needs to get a more pro management. They are good at negotiating, yes. But its sad how little they communicate about a possible top ten p4p.
Problem with Kessler is that he hasnt really fought anyone up until his fight with Cazlaghe. Now I know that his fans will talk about Mundine but that guy is A$$. I have seen Kessler fight several times and Im not all that interested in watching him fight anymore. He is a SOLID fighter but that is about it. I doubt strongly that he would beat either Pavlik or Taylor, in fact I would guess he would lose to both pretty bad.
It seems that you are trying to convince yourself by repeating this in different threads. It's not necessarily so, it can only be settled in the ring. I'm sure Kessler will eventually get his chance at Taylor and then we'll know for sure.
I said 'half shot', not 'SHOT' like Hopkins is. He looked great because even his half shot version is a great fighter, his prime version where he had every punch with intentions was so absurd that he didn't even have to worry about defence that much to just level guys and could fight as stupid as he wanted too. Obviously he has great boxing skills, imagine him stepping up to his full level of skill with his prime ability, Kessler would have been brutalised and stopped, along with Dawson and the rest of these guys, Pavlik in 1-2 rounds like Mitchell got dealt his!:yep Calzaghe's best years were wasted because he wasn't even close to a marketable name internationally to get the meaningful bouts, it's a pity. The Americans take this as he's a comfort zone **** full and full like Ottke.... Sven Ottke wouldn't have fought Mikkel Kessler at any point.
Good, then when he gets brutalised and stopped, I expect you to give Calzaghe the full credit of being the best fighter of the post-Jones generation.:yep
Amsterdam, you've probably done it already, so can you refer me to a post where you broke down the fight,,,with it ending the way you just described. I know your big on Joe C. and want to hear your breakdown.
Even though we in the know will have already acknowledged him as such and given him MORE credit for the Kessler win. :nod
Of course, I said I'll only give credit if he annihilates Hopkins. Even a dominant decision will mean nothing to me.:smoke
