Mikkel Kessler: What makes him so good?

Like Taylor, he's got physical ability(and more skill), but mentality problems and intangible problems, so it evens out. He's easily defeated guys Taylor would struggle with or go life and death with. Everybody thinks so highly of Wright's ability even over 160, yet Wright struggling with Soliman is an indicator of his stance there, where as Mundine destroyed him effortlessly and toyed with him. Similiarly, Mundine gave Kessler some trouble and totally outclassed current LHW titlist Green(I'd sure pick Green to KTFO Pavlik).

And Pavlik, you and I were in agreement that he's overrated and lucky to have a stylistic edge over Taylor.

 

Taylor has a TON more physical ability and skill than Mundine. Im sorry, but this isnt debatable...its obvious. I mean, while Mundine's shortcomings (the ones you mentioned) come out against the likes of Kessler and the such...Taylor's were vs ATGs like Hopkins and Wright....as well as tough fighters like Spinks and Ouma...and Pavlik's power and output could prove trouble for most fighters. I understand your dislike of Jermain, but to say he is onpar with a Mundine (who is a good fighter...but come on) is insane.

Ask yourself how Mundine would look vs fighters of the calibur Jermain has fought???

 

Spinks and Ouma, come on mate, they'd get obliterated vs. Mundine and Taylor struggled with them. Mundine's quicker than Taylor and has a 3x better defence and 3x better timing, with better power, just less chin and no heart.

You're overrating Taylor if you think he's better than Mundine, I'll accept that Mundine and Taylor are equal because of Mundine's short comings, that's fine.

Wide UD over Wright

Hopkins stops him, Mundine's mental short comings would get himself KOed late, but he'd sure as hell be leading on the cards with his speed and style against the OLD Hopkins that Taylor fought.

And don't tell me Ouma, Spinks and Wright give Mundine any trouble, just look at how Wright handles quick guys with movement, he SUCKS against them.

I can't believe you guys give credit for Taylor beating Ouma, this guy was owned by Karmazin and has struggled and lost to C- level fighters.

Then you totally ignore Mundine's outclassing over a very good natural SMW in Green and mention Ouma and SPINKS as good competition for a MW, that's just absurdity. I'd favour Taylor over Green, but he wouldn't win easily against a hard hitting pressure fighter and could very easily get KTFO by Green.

Kessler is also 3x the fighter Pavlik is, for Mundine to trouble him says a lot for Mundine's skill and ability, as he was winning before Kessler adjusted and upped the pressure. Pavlik doesn't have the chin or the speed/accuracy to not get pummeled by Mundine....

But if Pavlik lasted 5-6 rounds, I'd favour him over Mundine, as Mundine would already be mentally spent.

Kessler is 3x the fighter ...........................thats the funniest **** I have ever heard. NOBODY in boxing right now is more game and bad ass then Pavlik. He is a fighter..Kessler is a 1,2 boxer that does not trade does not like to get in and fight and got discouraged by POWERLESS Calzaghe shots. Get him in a real fight banging like JT and Pavlik and his ass would fold and run out the ****ing ring...

 

You missed the point...I didnt say how Mundine would perform vs Taylor's OPPONENTS....I said vs Taylor's CALIBUR of opponents. Meaning he hasnt fought anyone in the class of the ones Taylor has.

 

How many times are you gonna say that Kessler is 3x the fighter Pavlik is? You just keep repeating the same bull**** over and over. You come across as a big Pavlik hater, why? Pavlik is still a young fighter and just won the belt. Are you jealous that he's the middleweight champ or is every one of your posts about hyping Calzaghe?

 

Kessler has conditioning, boxing skills, good chin.

 

He is a crackhead, just reading his shitty way left field mindless tryanical posts is enough to make you not take anything he says seriously. Kessler 3 times the fighter but he fought NOBODY and he just stands there when he is under fire and sets up the same **** over and over. He is good at it, but I got Pavlik ripping his heart out of his chest. If Calzaghe had ANY power he would of made Kessler quit. Just look how Kessler reacted to the little ***goty slaps that Calzaghe landed. Then look at the blows JT and Pavlik where throwing....Who the hell was throwing them like real super middlewieghts...lol NONE of the 4 have great defense.

 

Both Taylor and Pavlik will definitely land their shots on Kessler, his head is always there to be hit. If Kessler was bothered by Calzaghe's body shot, he better stay away from Pavlik.

 

Come up with better criteria, and try being consistent for once. You're criteria is too flawed.

No Im a prove guy. some of these guys are talking about Kessler being a class above this guy and that guy. All of whom have PROVED it in the ring. Kessler has done nothing. He beat Mundine, and that is a good win. But Mundine isnt anything to write home about. Other then that what has he done??? Who has be beat in the RING that makes him sooo good?? He was outclassed by Calzaghe. Kessler needs to prove that he is better then other guys by beatting fighters that are elite fighters in the ring, and not because his fanboys say so.

 

Lance this is pointless. It seems that Kessler fans think that by him looking impressive vs a bunch of nobodies makes him a great fighter. Nevermind that he was outclassed in his only step up to the elite level.
