WTF are you doing in the boxing forum when you know nothing about boxing, Fuggley?

After all your posturing, all your venomous trash talking about PBF, you ran like a coward that you are and did a disappearing act after Hatton lost to PBF.

Take your ugly, lying, narcissistic ass back over to the lounge where it belongs.

I think kessler will be hoping to god Taylor wins so he can face him at 168 with more importance.

.....and with the amount of fights winky is said to have turned down lately it's no sure thing that'd he take a fight with pavlik if offered it.

Well take it from the horses mouth - Calzaghe himself said that Kessler was to good at countering his attacks in the first half of the fight, so he had to change styles and use plan B - too bad for Kessler, that he hadn't prepared a plan B. So yes Calzaghe did play it safe - and showed that he can fight very smart.

Other than that I agree that Kessler proberbly isn't that hurt from this fight - he was far from "lacy'd" and his style isn't a style that depends on fear with the opponent and great selfconfidense (much like say Lacy/Tyson), so Kessler should be alright - but we wouldn't know until he steps in the ring.

As for falling to step up ... I disagree - He stepped up against Siaca - taking on the reigning champ with three weeks notice and beating him that big - The WBA-official called it the most loopsided titlefight he had seen - then Kessler went on to fight the mandatory in Australia, Mundine being considered top5 by most. It's just that Calzaghe is a hudge step up from anyone in the SMW-division - it's like saying Hopkins/Toney failed when they stepped up because they both lost to RJJ...

Mayby - but why would Kessler want to fight the loser of Taylor-Pavlik II? :yep

Faetter_BR. Did you read the rather long interview with Kessler from yesterdays tabloid Ekstrabladet? Kessler talks about that he would probably not enter the ring again with such lack of preparatiuons as was the case before the Calzaghe fight. This kind of support the statements some of us had about him being afraid of loosing the big pay and therefore decided to fight where he probably shouldn' t have.
He says further that there is nothing he wants more than a rematch with Calzaghe but doesn't think he'll ever get it.
Also, he talks about staying in SMW which I find confusing because Team Palle recently mentioned a possible move to LHW???

kelly has the power but he is not a genius like calzaghe
kessler is much stonger and faster than taylor so before kelly will land his bomb kessler already scores a combo to his head

The move to LHW was only if a big moneyfight should turn up - read RJJ or Hopkins.

The money issue is over now - he is set for life, so he wouldn't have to worry about that anymore. It was the same with the Mundine-fight - hope we wouldn't see that again. That said I don't think it was the injuries that lost him the fight - it was his(and his corners) inability to change gameplan, when Calzaghe adapted - Kessler fought close to erfect until Calzaghe changed - tagged Calzaghe when he came forward and fought great once Calzaghe got inside - actually eating him on the inside game - sadly for Kessler Calzaghe then went on to beat Kessler at the "jabbing-game" :(

Kessler learned a lot that night - and hopefully he'll have a better cornerman next time around - someone with a better plan than: "hit him more and harder"...

Pavlik's not fighting Kessler either way. The only reason Kessler has interest is if Taylor wins. If Taylor wins, a Kessler fight for a vacant SMW belt would make lots of sense, and probably be as big of a money fight as either of them would be able to get. If Pavlik wins, Taylor's not going to want to take on someone as dangerous as Kessler quite yet, and Pavlik is still going to take the more lucrative fight against Duddy, followed by unifying against Abraham (who by then should be about as big of a name as Kessler, who doesn't have much of a name at all in the US).
