Mikkel Kessler will wear the English and Danish flags on his shorts!

    The Dane is doing it in honour of his English mum, Ann, even though he knows it will make him public enemy No.1 for the 50,000 Welsh inside Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
    "I'm going to wear an English flag and a Danish flag on my shorts for my mother who is English," said Kessler. "I know the Welsh crowd are going to hate me even more, but I'm not going to hate them.

    "My mum is from Salisbury and moved to Denmark as a young girl," he said. "She still lives in Copenhagen and she makes the most delicious meatballs, which are my favourite dish. I visited England a couple of times before my grandparents died when I was about three. After that, I didn't spend that much time in England.
    "I also have a big brother, Mark, who lives in Lincolnshire. I talk to him on the phone and from time to time we visit each other."

    (The unbeaten Kessler, who holds the WBC and WBA super-middleweight titles, also has an English half-brother, Mark Coleman, who lives in Lincolnshire.)

    I don't understand this move by team Kessler, do they honestly think he will win over some of the English supporters by doing this? If so they are sorely mistaken. I wouldn't have a problem with it if it was heart-felt, but if it was then he would have done it a long time ago.
    I am sorry to say this, but in my opinion it is a pathetic attempt to win some support from the crowd nothing else.

    He is fighting for the danish flag.

    However, if he puts the english flag on to honor his mum, I am okay with it.

    That was my first thought as well - but I chose see it as hommage to his mum.

    I know that is their explanation, but why haven't he done it before then? Didn't he want to make his mother proud when he fought Andrade for instance?

    OK bro. You tell me how a soldier in the Crimean war can fight for Imperial Russia and France at the same time? Even a French-Russian has to make a choice at some time or another in that situation.

    It fell from the skies in a losing battle, which swayed it back into a danish win - Dannebro will have that effect once again.

    showing he´s parents that he loves them,by wearing his mum´s and dad´s "homelands" flags,would make me proud if i was he´s father...
    but what i really like about it is: THAT HE KNOWS EVERYBODY WILL HATE HIM,WHEN HE COMES IN...JUST SHOW THAT HE DONT GIVE A **** ABOUT IT!!!
    SO SCREAM AND DO WHAT SOME DO:DISRESPEKT HIM....

    yeah but now he's figthing at her homecountry......haven't done that before (didn't wear them in Australia now did he :D )
