Wow, Kessler must be a bum. He's as bad as the guy that has dominated the HW division for years.

Its not that Mikkel can't fight going back.. it's that he can't hook off the jab or simply hook at all. I was very disappointed in his attempts at left hooks, they looked awful, terrible!

Wladimir Klitschko can hook, and he can hook off the jab very hard. He put people to sleep with that short sweet left hook.

I was thinking this. Very similar. However the American style of boxing is just better.

American style of boxing is just better?

How can you say one style is better than the other, when at the moment not only are the Europeans owning the vast majority of titles in boxing over USA, but their amateur scene is a hundred times more promising.:think

I think you have it confused Vitali is the one who cant fight on the back foot.

Vitali is more vulnerable to pressure than Wlad is.

Don´t compare Kessler with Wladimir. Wladimir is a much better fighter than Kessler. And Wlad had a much better trainer: Emanuel Steward! With Steward in his corner he improved as a fighter! Realize this.

    :good:good

Wlad can! Watch his fight against Chagaev. Great footwork, moving relaxed, throwing jabs and moving at this same time, fight plan etc.

Steward would actually be a natural fit for Kessler.

Ever heard of the iron curtain? If east block fighters were in pro boxing before the 90's, things would have looked differently.

Before giving out history lessons, history should be considered.

It would probably help Kessler if he was about 6ft 3 and with a long reach and size advantage over most opponents too ;)

You can't underestimate that factor when we're talking about fighters that like to dictate using the jab.

Yup. If Wlad was fighting guys with the same or greater reach who could move around and were faster than him, he'd have lost a lot more fights than Kessler. Kessler is better p4p.

Man I don't know why it is so hard for people to understand this! His physical attributes AND the lack of competitiveness in the division are huge factors to his dominance.

He has only fought one great fighter with equal stats... and lost.
