One of my favorite current fighters....
The guy has a great style to watch, is very talented and most of all seems to be a genuinely "good" guy. With only one loss to an Elite fighter in Calzaghe , the guy could possibly clean out a historically strong 168lb division... Could this year be his break out year? will his promoting debacle be resolved? Will he get the big fights and become a big name worldwide? I certainly hope so... either way, I hope to see him in some big fights by the end of 09 and beginning of 2010.

Not if his management has its way. Sad, really. I'd love to see this guy catch a break.

palle deserves to be shot for what he's doing to kessler...i really hope this all gets resolved soon b/c his prime years shouldnt be lost to some slap dick punk like mogens. he's such a talent and yes, there would be some real great fights he could get involved in and he could really leave his mark on this division.

I am a Kessler fan but he is slowly blowing his ride. The winner of Froch - Taylor will be considered the man to beat at SMW. Its bloody disappointing seeing it play out like this, if he doesn't get a decent fight by the end of the year i think we will know his intentions as a fighter.

It definitely sounds like regardless of his intentions they arent in his hands at the moment.

I think he would actually be better off with a German promoter buying out his contract and matching him with some better fighters.

Whilst not being one of my favourite fighters..I have always enjoyed watching him work. Quite a aesthetically pleasing fluid, stand up style, even if he really only can fight one way.
I really want to see him take on some of the guys at 168-175...As I think he can beat most of them.

I think that if he really wants out, he will achieve it by the end of the year. I am sure he isn't happy with the situation, but if he truly wants things to change, it will happen. He might have to make financial sacrifices but if he wants to be great he is clearly going to have to take drastic measures to un**** his matchmaking, as he is totally wasting his prime in an excellent division that he could quite possibly unify.

One of my favorite fighters, and I think one of the best pfp, but he suffers under arguably the worst manager in the game. By the time he truly extricates himself from the current situation he'll likely be past his prime. Bring on the next Euro tomato can.

Agreed. Such a tragic waste. A lot of JMMs prime was wasted by awful management too. These *******s :-(

Im really not sure about the consequences of him trying to break the contract or cutting and running. But it would be shame to see him waste his prime.

The man in your avatar was an example of how management issues can **** a career I believe.

Yep,, someone needs to give his management 'an offer they can't refuse' : give Mikkel his freedom, so that he can dominate the division. Kessler v Bute, bring it on .
