4 heavy s of differing styles ,who comes out on top ? Andrew Golota Carl Williams Michael Moorer Gerry Cooney ????
Interesting that Moorer`s in this list he was one of the first fighters after Hagler to lead with their dominant right hand, it gives fighters like Crawford an amzing advantage, Loma and Crawford are a part of this new dominant lead hand era, but they have improved on this tactic since Moorer who made too many defensive mistakes to survive vs Cooney, he`d have a better chance against Golota who didn`t punch as hard as Cooney but I don`t think Moorer could handle a sawarming heavyweight, because of his dicey defense and wobbly chin, I simply think he`s better than Williams, who might eat as mant straight lefts as he did left hooks, Williams wouldn`t take Moorer`s shots any better than Cooper did. Cooney would knock Golota out because he was wide open. Williams would be destroyed by Cooney`s hook just like he was destroyed by Morrison.
Cooney's wide left hook, vs Mooer's powerful straight left from the southpaw stance. (Interesting that Old George took care of both of them late in George's career)
The Cooney that fought Holmes blows them all away. That hook cracks all the glass you have lined up here. But I always say character matters, and the problem is that 3 of four of these guys are among the most inconsistent guys of all time. Cooney- drug/alcohol issues and psychological problems due to abuse and insecurity. Moorer- poorest concentration of any champ I have ever seen. Golata- Nut ball. I am very tempted so say that the Truth takes this. In fact, I will.
Nothing wrong in picking Carl,a excellent fighter ,if he can avoid the big bombs coming his way. He's certainly the Coolest head type guy here .
