I could see moorer out cold if the duke connects. Infact I would back him to beat Moorer the more I think about it. He wasn't the sturdiest was he Moorer, same could be said with Morrisson, but he has the dig here imo

I could certainly see that happening.

I picked Moorer as I see him as the more consistent performer at this level.

Whichever of them gets through, Baer takes the final.

A good question and a possible wildcard.

Based on what I know, I would say that Baers chin probably gets him past all these guys.

I do see it being Baer vs Moorer final. If Moorer takes Baer deadly seriously, which he should, he stands a chance. Even so, he'd have to survive some tricky moments on the way and I can definitely envisage him becoming a little too obvious with his have plan, getting a bit complacent and failing to withstand a Baer barrage. Winnable fight for Moorer, don't think it's the most likely outcome

But did Baer have a right hand lead? Without it, and without southpaw experience i just dont see him winning against an elite southpaw who beat holyfield outside of a puncher's chance. Baer wasnt a technical wizard nor did he have particularly good defense or fast feet.

I do agree that his chin and power may allow for him to simply outlast or wear down these guys.

The southpaw question is always an issue with top fighters of the past, because so many of them never fought a world class southpaw.

You just don't know at the end of the day.

Some of them would have adapted to it effortlessly, and some of them would have got laid out cold.

Baers durability gives him a good chance of dealing with it better than most.

Moorer was able to survive shoot outs against Alex Stewart and Bert Cooper. That isn't the end all, but he has experience with winning after being down multiple times.

    Baer stops hide in 7
Moorer stops morrison in 5 in a war where both men are down.

Baer and moorer engage in a brutal fight with both men hurt. But max drops moorer for the last time in the 9 th.

Baer is the best fighter of this bunch hands down. This is simply because hide Morrison and Moorer were never EVER considered the best in the world in their own time.

For a moment at least Baer was. That stands him apart. When Baer beat Carnera and Schmeling there was nobody better to beat. He knocked them both out.

Nothing on the resume of Hide, Morrison or Moorer can compare to this. Not by a long chalk.

Hides best win was over a faded Tucker for a nothing title. He blew his next competitive bout.

Morrison edged bald Foreman when he was but a novelty act, he then lost by hard knockout to a complete unknown.

Moorer was an unlikely champion but at least it was the championship. Holyfield proved he really had a bad night at the office first time when he finally rematched Moorer. And there was no other win close to that stature within Moorer beyond that point.

So history proved there was no more than one fair win in either of them. Baer proved he had two great wins in him. So his class would shine through. The others are simply not up to the job. It's a question of one elite guy in a tournament with three B-list guys. I vote for the elite guy.
