After 25 years of pretty hard training for boxing, football and just general keeping fit, I have decided to knock my usual training on the head as I'm ****ed and in need of recharging everything (hand and wrist injuries, a gammy neck, lower back done in, knee and hip pain etc.- just a typical banged-up fitness guy) I'm looking to rest up for say 6 months whilst maintaining a decent level of fitness with absolutely minimal training. Ideally I'll be giving 20 mins x 2 a week and no more. Has anybody had success with really minimal training to just keep ticking over? If so, what did you do? I eat 100% clean, my only cheat being getting pissed on rioja every Saturday. The rest of the time I don't touch any shitty food or drink whatsoever so I will not be gaining any podge even without the training. Also, I am very active with hikes etc. it's just the hard training I'm knocking more or less on the head. So, the question is: if you have 20 mins x2 per week, what would you do to maintain fitness? Cheers.
Yeah swimming is probably best. Good for cardio and muscular endurance, and it's very low impact so it will allow your injuries to heal.
