I don't think I've ever seen a fight where a boxer suffered so much damage in less than 3 rounds of fighting?
Hagler has a high kayo percentage and had power but most people I know say it's from landing combinations rather than single shots. In this fight it seemed like every punch caused a cut, bruise, or swelling to occur. I haven't seen too many of Minter's fights, but he must have had tissue paper skin! I know a few years before Hagler he was stopped by talented but light punching southpaw Ronnie Harris.
As far as injuries I have only seen that Boxrec stated that Minter needed 14 stitches for his cuts. Does anyone know if he had any broken facial bones?
One final thing the shower of beer bottles was shameful, and maybe Minter shouldn't have said before the fight that "no black man is ever going to take my title." Any comments appreciated!

That comment is so taken out of context with punctuation editorializing. I believe Minter was saying "No, black man. Is EVER going to take my title?" Meaning, will time itself/ever take his title? Will he grow old ever? Ever could take my title, that is an open question, but not Hagler. That kind of thing. And he was talking to a black, I think. So, he's saying, ''No, black man. Hagler will not take my title. But ever/Father Time, might."

    Hi Buddy.
I went to Vegas with Minter ( same plane ) and won more than a few bob when he comprehensively outpointed Antuofermo, some see it as a travesty of justice, not me, and have spoken to him on numerous occasions at various boxing functions, and also sadly watch his slow decline into a alcoholic, while he was fairly coherent we had some interesting chats about his career, fighters he fought, and in particular the Hagler fight, he had a soft spot for Finnegan, and admitted the 2nd fight should have gone to Kevin, said that Griffith taught him some, Hamsho was the strongest, Tonna was a good on top fighter, but was a bit of a bully, he was glad the Lucas fight fell through knowing what a handful Frankie would have been, he had lost the desire by the time he fought Sibson, and yes the Hagler fight kept him awake at night for years after, partly because of his comments ( not sure what @Boxed Ears meant ? ) and the absolute hiding that he received at the hands of Hagler, pertinent to your point, he said he was never hurt in the ring prior to this fight, cut, stunned, buzzed, yes, but truly hurt no, until Marvin swept him aside with a masterclass of violence, evey punch he said, hurt , really hurt, he felt at times there were 2 Hagler's, such was Marvin's ferocity, and was mighty relieved when the stoppage came, plus he didn't venture outside his house for 10 days, such was his face swollen and bruised, much like Buchanan ( Duran ) he said he couldn't have won the fight, even on the best night of his life, he remembers landing a left hook that stunned Hagler, but said it was a brief moment, and Hagler soon recovered, as the years went by and I saw him at events, he had completely forgotten me and our conversations, and was a sad and pitiful figure, with slurred words, and an aggressive tone, shame because I have fond memories of Vegas, I had my photo with him, and he cut a dashing figure when he was young, such are the vagaries of this sport of ours, I wonder sometimes.....
stay safe GH, chat soon buddy.
    Mike.
