I was just watching Dana interviewed after the main event and he mentioned this fight as a possibility. How do you see this fight going ?

The main reason dropping to 205 originally because of Cain but if he fights Miocic next it gives Cain time to get a fight or 2 in instead of getting rushed in because there is no one else worthy?

He brought up the Velasquez angle and said Cormier could keep the 205 belt and go back after fighting Miocic if he wanted win or lose. I don't think Cormier will but seems now would be the perfect time if he were to ever have a try.

With both having few options apart from Werdum it seems legacy wise and financially the best for both guys.

I think Miocic would win but would be a hell of a fight.Cormier has nothing much to lose imo and it gives both divisions a chance to find or build up worthwhile challengers.

Cormier has pretty much beat everybody apart from Jones who may not even back this year at 205 and has probably Gustafson as his best and only option

I wouldn't mind it but there are still viable options for both in Gustafsson and Werdum II/Velasquez. Miocic by late stoppage or competitive UD is my pick.

I'd rather see Miocic vs Werdum 2 and Cormier vs Gus 2.

But I think Cormier would beat Stipe, he's easily the quickest HW fighter which is why he could out strike most big guys. He's got a low centre of gravity so he isn't gonna be out grappled by them.

His TDD defence is quality, if Stipe gets a takedown he'll probably dominate there but I think it more likely that DC out strikes from range.

DC wins a decision, drops the belt, Miocic and Cain face for the vacant title.

I agree for the most part. Except for the part about Cormier beating him - although he'd be a live dog. It would have to be the best performance of his career and while still in great form I just don't see it now at nearly 40.

Many people forget that Cormier was a damn good heavyweight. He has a hell of a chin, and top notch wrestling, and an even pudgier body at heavyweight that is harder for guys to deal with. Seeing how bad Miocic's cardio was last night, I'd favor Cormier.

DC has proved beyond doubt that HW men cannot walk him down as he's too quick and accurate, plus he's active with his leg kicks. He doesn't take unnecessary chances.

I honestly don't see any HW out striking him and his stature makes him very hard to out grapple.

Jones was athletically superior and could beat him to the punch and kick so was able to strike from range, I don't think Stipe would have the same success.

For me Stipe would have to be shooting for the single leg and try to rag doll DC down, if he can do that I can't see DC having any success from his back.

I think he has the power to get DC out of there and enough wrestling prowess to cancel things out and make it a boxing match. It's a great fight between two elite fighters and while Cormier may be the superior talent overall I think the size coupled with Miocic's comparable skill would be the deciding factor. Definitely wouldn't sell Cormier short though... Think he has it in him to beat anyone in the world on a good night.

He has the power but I'm not sure he has the delivery.

The way DC slammed Barnett who is a world class grappler makes me think there's no one who can resist his takedowns unless they're athletically superior to him.

One thing Miocic does have spades of is patience and intelligence, he proved that last night without doubt. So I think he could find a strategy to beat DC, it's just whether or not he'd have the ability to pull off such a strategy.

DC is so strong and so quick that any HW will have their hands full. Only Jones and Gus have had any success whatsoever with him and that's because their rangy quick strikers.

Hunt has a good chance of beating DC but for Miocic to do it he would have to rely more on kicks than fists, and I think he'd have to ragdoll a single leg takedown. I think in the main DC has a big stylistic advantage but that can change very quickly if he's took down.

I'd probably have the odds something like

    DC 5/6
    Miocic 11/10

You don't have much knowledge of Cormier's career do you?

Yes. I also know how inept you are:

Well he took his power, how did the brutal KO go?

Same old **** from you.. Onto your next black bogeyman like Easter with Loma after he humiliated your hero & prediction. Now Cormiers beating Miocic! OK bro.. Good luck with that one too.

Same old bull**** from the same old race clowns on here. Let someone pick a black fighter to beat a white fighter and you can't handle it, turn it into a race thing. I didn't realize that Ward beating Kovalev's arse would **** with you and your ilk so much that you race troll 24 now. And you don't even make sense. Black boogeyman is probably who was banging your wife or girl last night while you were watching the fights. I wouldn't pick Easter to beat Lomachenko, you ******. I do think Cormier could beat Miocic though. He never had a problem fighting bigger heavyweights regardless of skin tone. He also has a chin, top notch wrestling, a gas tank, and a very pudgy frame that is hard for most guys to grapple with. As far as Ngannou, he is fairly raw and green. Didn't know he had such a bad gas tank, and Miocic stayed relaxed like I said he needed to, and made it an easy fight. I didn't have a bone to pic in the fight, just wanted to see a good fight, and the fight kinda stunk. If showing joy whenever a white fighter beats a black fighter gives you something, you are simply a racist ***** like some of you are on these forums. Doesn't have anything to do with me though. So run along with your trolling

Same old BS. Cormier beat washed up has beens at heavyweight and an overrated Big Foot Silva, this does not signify at all that he could beat all the heavyweights today, what strange logic. Heck I guess Jones and Gustaffson could beat Miocic too, sure why not.

When Miocic beats DC people will come up with the size excuse as always. By the way, DC will have difficulty against most of the heavies, since he is undersized, and will lose to the elites of the division.

The people here are still on Suicide watch after the Rise of Golovkin, Loma and Kovalev, Usyk. Let them hate I say.

Seems like if they don't fight each other almost everybody agrees it has to be Werdum and Gustafson. If that happens I would love to here any worthwhile opponents for both.

Miocic fighting Cormier makes a lot of sense to me with so many revenge storylines If Cain gets back in the title hunt. Outside of Jones who probably won't even be back this year is there anybody who deserves and or will be competitive with Cormier after Gus?

Would love to here what you do with Miocic after Werdum ? Especially interested to here from some of those shitting on NGANNOU

It's a pretty sad that we got these 2 great champs so dominant ,with seemingly nobody ready to step up. LOL There's hardly anybody in either division that's on a winning streak over 2

What does Usyk have to do with a fight between DC and Miocic?
