I remember when some people got mad at me for saying Jones would stop Vera in the first round, and claimed my prediction was disrespectful to Vera. It was just a prediction.

I believe Mir is a good fighter, but this match-up is all wrong for him. I think Dos Santos is going to get Mir in trouble in the 1st round, similar to what happened with Mir vs Nog, but I think Dos Santos finishes Mir instead of getting submitted. Disrespectful or not, I'm willing to take an avatar bet.

JDS really is just about the worst matchup for Mir. A very fast, powerful striker with good takedown defence vs. a slow jiu jitsu specialist with fairly poor takedowns and an awful chin.

Frank Mir is better than average. I'd say he is a jack of all trades and someone who is constantly improving.

I would NEVER sleep on Mir.

Wow you're actually serious? Have you seen what Ian Freeman did to a prime Mir? What about Vera? Brock? Carwin or Pe Da Pano? He wasn't just beaten on each occasion. He was wiped out. What does that make them that beat him so badly? All time greats too?
I can't believe you rattled off a list like that as though that was some great feat. His wins over CC and Nog are utterly meaningless. Likewise Kongo so what?!?!?! It's Kongo FFS!! Apart from Sylvia and Lesnar at an absolute stretch (bear in mind it was Brocks 2nd fight and Mir took a pasting before he pulled out the knee bar and your point borders on ridiculous.
Do you actually believe that wins over a fossil like Nog are enough to elevate him to all time status? Is this some kind of joke? Mir is capable no question about that. But all time great? Not even close. He's like the Frank Bruno of the UFC.

Definitely better than average. But he's not a jack of all trades. Mir's speciality is his subs. Everything else he's distinctly below average. His wrestling sucks. His grappling sucks. His takedowns and defence is practically non-existent. And his hands are grossly overrated because of what he did to Nog.

Really?? Dude Rampage was beaten by Bader, Liddell was beaten by Jardine, Silva was beaten by Okami, and Nick Diaz was beaten by Sanchez... For 1, you ignorant ****, Marcio Cruz was his FIRST fight back from a motorcycle wreck, Vera was also against a ****ed up Mir, and Freeman was his 5th ****ing pro fight.. How about when Dan Henderson beating your hero Big Nog....a LHW beat the **** out of your hero...Also everyone here is claiming Mir is "shot" so im going to claim the same excuse you are..Lesnar beat a "shot" Mir, Carwin beat a "shot" Mir, and Dos Santos will beat a "shot" Mir. So next time you wanna discredit Mir's wins over Nog, remember to discredit atleast 2 of Mir's losses and dont forget to remember Mir is the only man besides Couture to win the HW title twice....:good

Why are you mentioning Rampage or comparing his wins and losses? Where's the comparison?
Yeah you're definitely a Sherdog Scholar. You've been watching MMA two minutes and now you're going to make a ridiculous reach like that? You haven't even seen the Pe De Pano fight much less for when Dan beat Nog at RINGS. You're happy to mention that Freeman was his fifth fight but then dumb enough not to remember Mir was Brocks SECOND fight in his career.
Look if you want to construct a decent argument here's a tip. Have the wherewithal to back up what you say instead of spitting your dummy out like a petulant child. And then getting in a tis adding a whole bunch of shite to the discussion that's of no relevance.
You're glibly happy to reel off stats and ignore the manner of his losses and the men that beat him. The manner of Mir's losses are proof enough that he is NOT an ATG heavyweight. In addition those men that beat him by your reasoning would have to be considered for such a lofty status simply because they literally wiped the floor with him. Mir didn't just loose. He got ****ED UP.
So sorry to bust your bubble sweet heart Mir's just a gatekeeper. Real talk.
