When asked at the press conference today what is his biggest advantage in his upcoming fight with Andre Ward, Edison Miranda asked the media if they saw the fight between Jermain Taylor and Carl Froch. He said that "Taylor and Ward are fruits from the same tree, they were cut from the same cloth. They dont have a heart. That is why Jermain Taylor lost and that is why Andre Ward will lose."
It was done by phone conference today. I am sure it will pop up on somewhere soon. Ill look for it and post it here for ya buddy! :good Anymore news from the KP camp about a fight with Abraham later this year?
This is a crossroads fight for Edison. If he wins, he'll probably get a title shot, or at least an eliminator. If he loses, he'll be a gatekeeper on Friday Night Fights. This is very important for his career, and he has lost his 3 most important fights:think
Yeah. A poster that I believe is in a good position to know said the negotiations are ongoing for November.
Yes, this is very true and he knows it. He lost to two true champions at 160lbs. One who could easily compete at 168lbs. Both guys with sick power and huge hearts. I dont see Andre Ward anywhere near this level or with the right ingredients to do the job. Hopefully, if Miranda wins, people wont be saying how Ward was never worth crap and the win means nothing.
If Miranda thinks Ward is anything like Taylor he's going to get his ass handed to him. Taylor is primarily a flat footed fighter. Ward has some of the best footwork and movement in the sport.
He's also a natural SMW with better combo's and footwork. People must've forgot that ward won gold at LIGHTHEAVYWEIGHT. Edison is the smaller man folks. He's also the slower of the two, but edison does have more fight in him I suspect. That could be the key factor in this fight. If ward boxes a smart fight, he'll beat edison easy. However, if he tries to make miranda pay for his comments it could be the reason why he loses this fight. My pick is ward by comfy UD over the 12 rds.
Did you read what he said? He didnt compare the boxing styles, he said they have no heart! Ward is NOT gonna be the bigger man. Miranda is big for a SMW, he probably is more of a natural LHW. In the ring there is no question that Miranda will be heavier. Im not saying that is always a good thing, just making a point.
For Olympic versus Professional fighter, I'll refer you to Froch/Taylor. There is a difference that not all amateur fighters adapt to. Points scoring versus fighting. I don't know Ward so I really won't say much about the specifics. Miranda has struggled to make it down to 168. I don't expect him to be the smaller man by any means. Even so, Billy Lyell had to eat extra to get above 155 for his fight with Duddy. He still weighed 155 on fight night and Duddy was estimated to be around 170 by those at ringside.
